Subject: Style Your Quiz - COMPLETE
Date: Jul 15 11

This is something I know we've discussed before but never implemented. Specifically, it's all about style. This challenge will ask you to write a quiz in a particular style or tone. Only one person may pick each style below, so once you claim it, it's yours. You may create a title for it (though you will need to state the title before you submit the quiz) and you may create it in any category you wish. All you need to do is make it work for the style you select. Some of these may lend themselves to particular genres and some may simply be a tone in which you should write. I'm eager to see what you can do fitting in with these; bonus points if you use author challenge titles. ;)
Good luck!

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Juggling the order as the quiz grows is one of the main reasons why I always write up my quizzes in Word - it is so easy! (And it picks up typos beautifully.) Then it only takes a few minutes to cut and paste into the template, and I have developed a much more efficient technique for doing this than my original copy question, change screen, click the right spot, paste, change screen, copy right answer, change screen ... you get the picture. One quiz I am working on now is changing order with virtually every question, as I didn't start with a clear concept of how the ten characters were going to be united into a single quiz rather than just ten random questions on a common theme.

I actually can't work the word on this computer. When we got a new one it came with the very latest version of Office, and it seems like not one thing is the same as before. Since I no longer have to write papers or essays or anything, and no2 son's homeschooled days are done, I never bothered to try and work out how to "fix" it so I can use it lol. I expect it is very handy if you use it a lot, but I just can't summon the necessary placidity to deal with a microsoft product that isn't doing what I want it too :-D I don't have enough hair left to tear any out lol. I have a real paper notebook stuffed with little scribbled notes though! (just call me a dinosaur :-D)

Inspiration struck, in the form of an ostrich of all things! and "The Amazing Abenaki" is now in the queue. Warbles merrily "Come twitch with me, come twitch come twitch away, if you can use some exotic food, there's chocolate on the way..." :-D

Well my quiz has been sent for some unlucky editor to scratch his or her head over. I'm a bit nervous about this one, but will hope for the best.

I think this is it. :)

That was a relief. Thanks to Bloomsby for not leaving me to twitch too long. Even though I'd run the idea past an editor before starting I was still apprehensive about the concept.

Hmm. Since, ironically, nobody's been in a rush to claim the last theme, and I just got a rather good idea for it, I would like to claim it. :)

Not really what I originally intended it to be, but what finally emerged. :D

Ok - So I just moved and got a new job and am not able to do "A Bitterly Indignant Rant." Hope someone does something great with it!

I'm not saying I'm doing this, just musing - this style could work very nicely for one of those Commission titles that make you go "Whaaaaa?".

Can we interest anyone in this final style? :)

I'll let you know Kyle .... there's a title in Stepping Up X ... "Looking Back in Anger" that would fit nicely with this (kill two birds with one stone) - my first thought was a quiz on some great rants from the movies but I've already done something similar.

I'll take it on. I've got a challenge quiz picked that I think will work with it.

My indignant rant will be entitled "You Shall Not Pass!", just so that you will recognize it when it is posted. I'm about half done crafting it.
