Subject: What badges are difficult?
Date: Jul 30 11

I find some of the badges to look too challenging. What is your advice to someone in their first year of funtrivia.com? What tips do you have to make the challenges easier or more obtainable? Any further comments are welcome.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

What makes some FT people so fun to chat with? How about some good ideas about badges?

Some FT members are fun to chat with because they actually respond to what's been written and interact with each other.

'good ideas about badges'?

Do you mean what's the easiest way to get them?

If that is what you mean, the easiest way to get them is to play, play, chat, chat, play, play.....repeat as necessary.

Scavenger badges seem easiest to earn. Those timed quizes seem challenging. What is the best way to win? Is high-speed Internet a must?

If you just want the chatterbox badge then please respond to what's actually been written rather than act as a "facilitator".

What is the problem? Do all FT players comment on others? I am enjoying this site. I did not join as a gold member to receive critics. I will play and write appropiately, thank you.

Just try to have fun and the badges will come. Some are harder then others. I want the riddle badgelet but can't figure it out. I have other badges that I am happy with though. Just keep trying your best.

In the Challenges list, the badges and badgelets are grouped more or less by difficulty - trying starting at the top and working down!

There are some badges I feel very fortunate to win, such as Smartest of the Smart and Gold Madness Monthly, but there are so many more 'hard to get' ones I really believe are always within reach, no matter how hard they are to achieve. I'll never give up even if it takes 5 years to get them :)

My team message board has been a great help in learning about the different challenge badges! This really is a good site for recreation! I even learned how to write questions and 50 + have been accepted. Keep trying has become my motto. What is your thought on winning challenges for badges?

I hate the KO Champ. Three years and I don't win this badge. Isn't the hardest badge but it's very frustating for me.

Getting the Monthly Easy badge appears to be well beyond my reach. At the end of the month I am lucky if I end up in the top 100.
Do I try and play as many as possible for the month and win by shear volume alone or play a few selective games for 10/10 scores? I just can't seem to get the right balance.

For the monthlies, you're better playing as many games as possible, because your rating relies on your average score as well as total points. The more games you play, the less impact a bad score will have on your average (although of course the same is true for a good score) and your total points will be higher. Naturally, if you have some really bad subjects you can avoid them, but IMO it's generally better to play as many as you can.

In my opinion and experience, it seems to take a while to navigate the Fun Trivia Site. I am still discovering things such as -it maybe best to bite off some challenges in bite sized chunks - ok that sounds like dur !!! but I have never been the type to take bite sized chunks of anything. Some
challenges were very scary ten months ago, and now they are ok.
What is really good is the oportunity to participate by sending questions in and I have just had a quiz put online - yeah it took a long time but it is good to be able to contribute in a really positive way.
Cheers Cathy

Treasure Hunter Badge!

I've been having too much fun/frustration figuring out the clues and finding my way. I still have a way to go but I'm getting there and having a good time.

I wouldn't mind the Lucky Duck Badge either but I'll just have to hang around a while to see if it ever comes my way. On that note a while back I saw some debate about logging out vs. not logging out. Does anyone have an idea if you need to for that badge?

Just perusing profiles and noticed a mini-badglet Mygirl2000 can claim on December 23.

Happy FunTrivia Birthday
Requirements:
This special present can be picked up on a yearly anniversary of your first day on FunTrivia. You MUST claim it personally on that day from the challenges page!

Now that is an easy one to pick up and add to your collection. :)

I just got the Chatterbox Badge about a week or so ,it just showed up in my mailbox, wasn't expecting or even trying for it. That was a very nice surprise,i mean getting a badge you worked for is the cake, the ones you don't expect are the icing, and i love icing.;)
Play the games you like and enjoy and with apologies to Shakespeare as night follows the day,so shall your Badges will follow.

The Riddle mini-badge is on the Buzz today. Does anyone know how to do this one?

Yes... solve the Riddle. ;)

It's possible to find the answer without solving every single bit of the Riddle but clearly some parts are more important than others. I got the badgelet very soon after the Riddle first appeared but I didn't understand what it all meant until afterwards - and I know that other people were in the same boat as they've asked me what things meant after they've got the badgelet.

My best advice is to take a methodical, linear approach. :)

I got the riddle without solving it and went back to read the clues again to see if I knew what they meant, but was congratulated on winning and no clues. I cannot figure out the Centurion Conundrum.
