I find some of the badges to look too challenging. What is your advice to someone in their first year of funtrivia.com? What tips do you have to make the challenges easier or more obtainable? Any further comments are welcome.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Never thought that I would get the badge for Daily Game Winner, but somehow managed a great set yesterday and received the now beloved badge just after 1 am! All of my persistence really paid off in obtaining this one! It is now, without question, my favorite hard-to-get badge :)

#39 & #40 If there was any hints or tips therein, thanks, but as it stands I simply have not got a clue. I look at the challenge every now and again thinking to myself 'Right, this time I'm gonna crack you!' Five minutes later, 'Nope, not today thank you'.
Someday I hope to develop an analytical cryptic mind and nail these pesky riddles.

I was happy to get the Daily Winner. One day I might figure out that pesky riddle! I was also very happy to crack the treasure hunt. Unfortunately I forgot to write down the vital clue for me and it took nearly 12 months to pop up again!

habitsowner Good for you on the Treasure Hunt. I think I've got all the clues and I STILL can't figure it out. I'm starting to wonder if I'll EVER get it!

Autolycus2 Well, I just bombed out of the Topaz Scavenger Hunt! There are 12 quizes you have to take, scoring 4 or higher on each of them. The problem is two of them are so obscure I don't see how you can get them without cheating (taking the quiz a second time)!

I must try the Topaz scavenger hunt. There are quite a few of those more time-consuming ones that I have put to one side. Unfortunately my workplace blocks funtrivia :-)

Some of the scavenger hunts allow you to retake the quizes 24 hours later? On the challenge page, you click on retake in purple letters. This will usually either tell you when you can retake the quiz or it will take you right to the quiz for a retake. This is a must for mission impossible badge at the diamond level.

Lionel777 The Impossible/Obscure is very difficult. Any suggestions on how to achieve it?

So far, the 'Riddle' challenge is driving me nuts!

As a general rule, I find that the badges I haven't got do seem to be the most difficult.

I think it a bit strange that there are some fairly tough challenges, such as 'Just a minute' and 'code breaker', which only merit a badgelet on completion compared to some badge-awarding challenges which are really simple to knock off.
I’m not going to lose any sleep over it, but it does seem a bit inconsistent. If and when I get these badgelets I’ll be really pleased and proud, but would no doubt feel I’ve done enough to merit a badge…

I think that the diversity of the challenges is intriguing. The 'riddle' drive me nuts too, but it may not be as difficult to others. Meanwhile, something I feel is not as challenging is a wall to someone else.

Getting Question Quest Ratings seems to take time.

The monthly badges are the hardest in my opinion. Takes a combination of stamina and skill. For some reason the mixed monthly game is the hardest of all for me!

The Weekly Pot of Gold will always be beyond my reach :(
Monday always lets me down and Tuesday ain't so great either! I have all the other days but these two continually elude me!

Of the badges that don't require years of work, I found the Word Weaver (11-letter word), and the Smartest of the Smart (highest score over the Tough game) to be the most challenging.

I'm certainly not speedy enough to win any of the monthly badges - but will keep playing and may just be lucky one month!!!
