Subject: What badges are difficult?

I find some of the badges to look too challenging. What is your advice to someone in their first year of funtrivia.com? What tips do you have to make the challenges easier or more obtainable? Any further comments are welcome.

It's been years now, and I'm still searching for that elusive Treasure badge!

I am having a very difficult time getting the Triathlete badge. Cannot get that magic 2750 points. Always one of the three hourly quizzes is my undoing (usually the Harder one).

The 6 out of 7 winners on the KO Fantasy can be anything but possible? Does anyone have that badge?

TheAnswerIs9 I find the "Fortune Teller" badge too difficult. I think they should still have that badge, but make another one where you have to get 10 words or something like that.

The obscure badges are tempting me to try time and time again for a challenge accomplishment. Each badge seems to have a certain level of difficulty.

sportsherald I joined just a year ago myself, and I've found FT has a pretty good progression of positive feedback, with frequent levelling up, badges, and badgelets. My profile says I have only achieved 81 of 220 challenges, and some challenges still look daunting, but I have now succeeded at some things I never thought I could a year ago- I am most proud of becoming Immortal. The one I may never get is the aptly-named "Impossible!"

In answer to your query, just the one I think and that was only won in the last 14 days.

If they were all easy and we all got them there would be little enjoyment when you do get one.

I had been trying for Perfect Madness since it came out and had some close calls with 14/15 on several occasions, but it felt all the better this week when I scrolled down 15 ticks with the badge award at the bottom of the page.

Temporal Rift - very frustrating - I stayed up one night because I had all but two...and finally gave in when my eyes got too bleary to see.

Not that the quizzes are difficult, but they're very hard to find!

There's a very easy way to find to the quizzes necessary for "Temporal Rift". Same strategy I used for "Mission Impossible". Did "Dogs" the hard way though. If you get either "Temporal Rift' or "Mission Impossible" in the future, shoot me a message, and I'll tell you the quick way. I found all the "Temporal Rift" quizzes in 20mins the day I won it.

Re: The Riddle....winning this badge was the most satisfying win all the badges/badglet's I've won (91 so far), even more so than the Treasure Hunter (which I was surprised to find out too me waaay less time than most, about 2 months). I'd spent a lot of time staring at the Riddle with no luck, put it away, and came back 2 months later, had some moments of brilliance, and solved it.

The badge which is currently the bane of my existence is the "Mind Melt: Achievement" badge. I've gotten 14/15 more times than I can count, but cannot for the life of me manage all 15. "I See All!" badge is also driving me crazy. Was runner-up recently to 1 other player, agh!! A few times I've been typing in my guess (the winning word) but someone typed it in just a bit faster. Some day I will win the badge, and when that day happens, I will be most proud of the accomplishment.

Currently working my way toward "Jack of Many Trades" with 12 category wins so far out of the 20 needed. Also attempting "GC: Achievement" and "Impossible!" during this round of the tournament. I do not expect immortality this time around, but shooting for the 9th tier seems achievable, so that's my goal.

One more thing I though of...You don't have to rely on guessing to answer questions in quizzes on topics you know nothing about! Researching answers is encouraged as a learning tool on the site, which means you can Google!

The easy way of finding quizzes for temporal rift would be slightly less effective for the dogs badge, if it is what I think it is.

Maybe I am thinking of a different way though.

I'm finding the Question Quest 2 badge to be pretty frustrating. Several of my recent questions settled at 54% of people getting them right. I'm pretty close though.

Of my 8 QQ Questions that have been rated, 4 fit the "Interesting Question" qualification, but only 2 of those fit the 55-90% requirement, hovering around 70%. I've got 14 total submitted, so still a long way to go for either badge.

I think the way I used for "Temporal Rift" would be sufficient for "Dogs" but I did "Dogs" before I discover my new method, so I just went category by category until I found them all, took me 2 days of searching and playing (and lots and lots of clicking through categories).

Funny, I'm right in the middle of 'dogs' now, and finding it way easier to find the quizzes because it's by subject, whereas 'temporal rift' was by date which was much harder for me, especially since it has to be done in one day, which pretty much excludes doing anything else. If you have any suggestions for temporal I'd be glad to hear them - I had thought of looking ahead for quizzes on certain dates, but that's just not gonna happen.

Temporal Rift was easy, I just checked various authors with tons of quizzes. And some dates have more quizzes online then than others.

The crystal ball badge... I cant understand how some people guess the right answer so much. There must be a strategy I am missing. I've never came close.

The last five minutes are crucial :)
For me the mind melt challenge(s) is the most difficult one.
