I have no idea what you're talking about (sounds like an old program we used to have in the States called "The G.E. College Bowl"), but best of luck anyway.

"A British version of the televised College Bowl competition was launched as University Challenge in 1962." (Wikipedia) Except CB was sponsored by General Electric, and the British version was on BBC.

Thank you :). That's right, and that makes this the 50th anniversary of the show.

Is there anyway I can watch this show on the internet? I seem to only catch snippets on youtube.

Hi everyone, our next round match is on tonight, BBC2 8pm.
Also, apologies or only just seeing the above comment. No one seems to be uploading the current series onto YouTube unfortunately.

WOW! That was one of the best contests I've seen for years!
Well done to Manchester Uni - and Mike.

I was expecting myself to look much more frantic on screen than I did. I certainly felt it at the time!
We've not been told yet, but the next one *should* be on in two weeks time.

Hi Boxjaw (and anyone else who's interested), there is a way to watch, but I'm not sure if the admins would be okay with me posting it on the board. If you'd like to watch, please send me your email address and I'll give you details about how you can watch online :)

Hi, Doublemm! Supersal posted a link to the quiz show in which she participated, and it wasn't removed. I was able to watch the entire program, and it's nice to see (and root for) contestants we "know"!
Please post the link for us. What's the worst that could happen?

The problem is that BBC shows are only viewable using their (wonderful) iPlayer, which is not available outside the UK. The BBC is funded from licence fees payable by all UK residents who have a television set; as a result the iPlayer has so far been restricted for use by the people who paid for it. There are constant rumours about a subscription version being available outside the UK but at present that doesn't exist. You could watch Sal's show because that was on commercial television and the adverts paid for it. So even if we gave you a link, it wouldn't work for you.

Of course! What was I thinking? (Obviously, I wasn't.) Thanks for the explanation, Flopsy! Now going on 48 hours without sleep, and it's seriously affecting my pea-brain!

And a very well-chosen one-off it is too. Worth watching again, thank you.

Thanks for posting the link, Doublemm! Of course, I watched the entire program, and it was well worth the wait.
