Oh no, I didn't even realize there was an earthquake in Denver! I sure hope all my Denver friends are all right.

Trinidad was the location, Salami. However, someone in the DTC (Denver Technological Center) stated they felt it.
The DTC is located in Greenwood Village (aka Centennial, Englewood and Littleton).
The one in 1973 knocked people out of bed (I was not one of them).

Anyway, earthquakes in Colorado are fairly rare...

That is a fairly hefty earthquake for us. Most in the area are between 2 and 4 on the Richter scale. I didn't feel a thing, though I live in the northern part of the state.

Add Washington D.C. to the list.
From what I have heard there was a 5.8 there about 1/2 hour ago and effects could be felt at least as far as Suffolk County on Long Island in NY, that part I can confirm.

Dang, DC too?
Though they're not as high as those in the past in other locations, but for Colorado and DC, that's pretty huge.

The earthquake just zipped through Baltimore. Felt like a heavy freight train trundled by as the building I was in shook like jello and the windows rattled so much seemed they'd fall out.

The one in Virginia was oringally reported as having hit Washington D.C., which is close to where it was centered in Virginia.

What a coincidence. There was an earthquake in Virginia today too. I was stuck in my car in bumper to bumper traffic when the ground started shaking.

Very unusual isn't it, earthquake on the east coast, no one expected that, there's a New Madrid fault line where the Mississippi River runs, one just never knows.

Just read on the internet news feed that the Washington Monument in DC was cracked and is closed indefinitely.
