I seem to have caught some of that fall cleaning fervor as I go through cupboards and drawers of old papers.
I still have copies of documentation for calling in sick to my job. I've been retired for two years! I don't really think I'll have any use for that stuff again.
Any of you working folks who have a decent job, hang on to it! Retirement on a pittance is no fun. I had no choice, health issues, but really it's very hard. Might be because of the economy too.
he decorations sound great, I need to back track to see what eveyone is talking about.
My friend the computer man has an independent shop. I took a cobbled up lap top that someone gave me to see if he could get it to work, but he couldn't. So I let him keep the components. I had no use for them. So I guess I had a little bit of credit there. Since he's his own boss, he can "give" a favor now and then.

I seem to have caught some, too. Old papers, old stories, old tapes… But the last time I cleaned anything wasn’t fall yet-it was the Friday before Irene showed up, when we had that meeting. Mr. Rush, the CEO, said that if we were planning on moving anything, we should do it that day; and so I did.
I reread those old stories, and modified where necessary-by the time I post here, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to have more than 69.
I don’t have papers from public school, but I still have college textbooks on the computer (Mom scanned the pages until the last year, when Grandma started taping). And speaking of those tapes, I have all the ones she made for my anthropology class-and the articles I used for my report on “Ireland Today” for the same course. The tapes she made of “Career Fitness,” however, I added to the “recycle” pile after the semester was over (though I still have the worksheets and writing assignments from that course).
I also have a number of Mom’s old papers on this computer (it was hers originally.

| Make that 73 separate files (some short stories connect to others, but I couldn't leave them the way they were-if *I couldn't bear to read them as they were, how can I expect anyone else to?) |

120 drafts and fragments in separate file folders (some folders have more than one draft, so the actual number of writings from 2010 is slightly higher)

Time for another story (still from the spring 2010 folder of "Jazmee's World [this one's called "Exciting Event"]):
===
"Did you hear about the ice cream social tomorrow?" Minrebecca asked when she showed up for a visit.
"No," Jazmee answered truthfully.
"It's called a Spring Social and is in the Community Room tomorrow afternoon at 2 with the visiting nurses. Maybe you should go." She paused, then added,
"You know, if you're lonely you should go out and do stuff with the others instead of staying up here all the time."
I'm divided on the subject, Jazmee thought to herself. On one hand, I want to go, but on the other I feel uncomfortable in a room full of people I don't
know. Plus, half the people here I don't relate to!
Later, during dinner, Jazmee wondered to herself if her friend Julia was going. "I think I'll call her when I'm finished here."
___
I remember I couldn't get her on the phone-but I still went, and had a very good time

| I didn't call in my groceries yet as I was asked to call later, as they have more help inthe afternoons (that's neverhappened before-I'm guessing that, since it's a holiday week [Zweier's only delivers Tuesday-Thursday] that the week is that muchbusier for having lost Monday) |
