Subject: A place to call my own

Welcome, all! Sit down on one of the couches, or pull up a chair: itâ??s all about comfort in my little place. Some of the furnishings have yet to be installed, but itâ??s still nice and comfortable :)

Music, food, games, talk--whatever you want :))

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Mom makes a really good pecan pie-hope she makes it for the holidays again

Though I, personally, prefer pumpkin :)

Last year, she made both, and I ate tepumpkin

I wonder if anyone can convince her to make dirt dessert (it's Edward's favorite, but I've always liked it, too)

And she always makes mini cheesecakes for Christmas :)

She'll probably whip up another batch of ambrosia

Turns out, the maintenance guy that was here *is one of the regular ones--I just rarely get to see him. His name's Jerry, so our maintenance guys are **Tom and Jerry.* How cute is that? I remember, one day, being told, "Tom andJerry are out today."

Evidently, Jerry's daughter, Michelle, knows me. "She's afiliated with either IU-13 or Quest. Have yu been to either of those places?" Well, now you mention it... (She may have been the woman Grandma and I, along with Deb, met with two years ago-how the years come and go)

Speaking of years slipping past, I got the surprise of my life when, after he left to go get some base paint, I checked my clock: 3:01. 'That can't be,' I thought--so I checked another, and then another. 'How'd it get to be so late?'

Then again, I've been writing more stories, so not really keeping track of time (but I'm fairly certain Jerry got here between 11 and 11:30. To cut the man some slack, he'd never done that beforemounting a TV on the wall).

It's the strangest thing:

Through Comcast, I can't get the Digital Starter (online exclusive offer, $29.99/12 months), but through AllConnect, I can get it (39.99/6 months, plus $42.95 instalation-one time fee-then after 6 months, the price goes up to $64.90. The strangest part? AllConnect is a third party-meaning it's Comcast, anyway!)

Mom brought more food: three slices of pizza, a container of Caramel Corn (from the beach), and two small containers of potato soup. Also from the beach (Delaware), she bought me a coin purse with a key ring attached (you don't find those many places).

Poor Ethan. He has several bald spots, and at first when Mom looked at him his face looked bloody. "Did you pick yourself raw?" she asked him.

Grandma noticed a lot of feathers on Monday when she was up.

Mom said changes in weather can cause moulting, but this must be the worst he's had in the almost two years since I bought him.

I know stress is also a factor, and the one night I scared him pretty bad (that's the only time he bit **and drew *blood* [it was late at night, and my movement spooked him])

She's not on regularly, and when she is the most she does is play a few games.

I think the only reason she joined Purple Ninjas is because I'm leader (half the time, that's howI know she logged in-that is, if she earned any points that day)

She joined in April of '09, I believe, and is only level 5

She doesn't know what the site has to offer, but every time I've given her pointers she doesn't seem interested
