Have a headache, and my leg hurts :(
And I've gone back to tape nine (wound up redoing it, as it sounded stupid at the one part)

Maybe I should add the doctor's office to that list I made in Lesley's blog.
I once had to call in three times to get an appointment the next day (it was the evening I cut my finger on the tin can ("stupid tin can"), and needed to schedule a tetanus shot-I very nearly gave up and called the next day as the receptionist, or whatever her title was, was *extremely* rude. Only Mom's persistent nagging kept me on the line).
Speaking of which, COLT BusCompany goes on that list twice for all the BS I heard from them:
"We can't back up"
"No, we can't do that"
"No, sorry, can't do that"

Mom's off to Wal-Mart after she does yard work. Asked whether I'd like to go along: "Not today."
Leg still hurts, ear still hurts, head still hurts, and the bird is driving me insane again!

Thanks, Lesley.
I'm redoing tape nine (I found parts of seven and eight that needed redoing, too). Now the"nightmare scenario" is more nightmarish--rather than wait until tape 15 to learn one of the most trusted characters has been evil the whole time, it's now on tape nine (oops, forgot I'm on tape ten-side b, in fact). At one point, a character asks "Is it Halloween?" This is because scenes like this tend to happen on that day-and, at least for the moment, they're in an actual nightmare, as in "we're really asleep and trapped in here" (you can often tell something's going on with me when I redo the story like this)
Speaking of the drama, some inspiration goes to "The Devil You Know" (irony is, I haven't watched that yet)

Spoke to Michael last night whenI called Mom, and we were laughing a lot about among other things, the day I told Mom I'd been watching movies on Lifetime with the word "fatal" in them. In this real serious voice, she says: "That's it-I'm not visiting you anymore."

I asked Mom to get antifungal at Wal-Mart as I'm thinking my hands *do* have a fungus
She also brought over some food (more sausage, pea soup, minestrone soup, a slice of pizza, and the food from the market
She trimmed my fingernails (and a cosmetic case must have fallen out of her purse, as it was on top of my tapes)
We watched some of "60 minutes" before she had to go home
And she gave Ethan a bath (he was picking at himself again)

M&M cookies
It occurred to me today: Ethan was born this week (he's 2)
Sunday it will be two years since I bought him (and Saturday was two years since Ben died)
Georgette called three times in a row and left two messages (last night), then called back this morning when she didn't hear from me (I was busy with Mom, who the first time it rang said, "Whoever it is can wait." The third time she looked at the caller ID and said, "Yep-it's Georgette."
I made the mistake of phoning her back, not knowing who it was, but thinking the call was important (she just wanted to tell me she's coming over Saturday)
"Georgette, I really can't talk now"
"Oh-I'll call back later."
I was late answering the door for Grandma because I'd just gotten a bath and was getting dressed (she's very impatient, is Grandma). She rang the buzzer for the outer door (twice), then someone must have let her in because she came up and rang the doorbell for my apartment (another buzzer) twice bfore I told her to hang on. As soon as I had clothes on, I opened the door--and explained as best I could.
"I got a late bath, and was interrupted by the phone."
She brought yogurt (12), bread (potato),and tea (20 for me, plus ten for Mom).

| I'm fairly certain my latest story's inspired by a short story by Harlan Ellison. (Don't ask me why, but as I listened to it I thought, 'much asI hate it, I like it' And then, I had an idea for how to write draft 5 of "Village Streets") |

I just thought that I should put the story instead in draft 1 of "Village Streets," it being various versions

Here it is: #4 within the 1st draft of "Village Streets":
===
The hammer swished through the air, thudding through pliant flesh and sinking deep into fragile bones like an unstoppable fiend. And as it rose, then fell, without any hand to guide it, the blue-eyed boy’s muffled sobs were cut short. And the ground, which had been dry for months on end without relief, gaped wide its jaws to gulp greedily at the boy’s fresh, warm blood as it poured from his body like raging floodwaters
By the time the hammer ceased to move, naught remained to suggest a living boy had lain there. But the land was now lush and fertile for having drunk its fill, and flowers soon sprung up in abundance and variety; and everywhere else there was continued famine and drought.
___
Is there part of "Death of Grass" inhere? (*shudder* [I *loathed* that book after I read it, and that's what put me off horor--until now, that is, as some of what I read definetly crosses into that genre {I wouldn't be a bit surprised if my writing does as well--especially the one above}])

I'm thinking that book should never have been sent to me, as it wasn't age appropriate (one of many instances in which the library just sends stuff to people without checking to see if it's suitable--I'd be very surprised if it isn't handled by computers)
I had to limit the Braille books they send me because they'd send me up to 14 volumes per month. **Does it look like I have space for that?* So far, I haven't limited audio--but that may happen yet as I start making up my book lists)
