Thanks, Jaymee. I believe the 'hives' were because of "Popcorn Shrimp" but I'm not sure why...:)
I have a cat, but he is NOT allowed in my room, because of the 'hair' thing. I'm glad you and Scrappy can share a bed!;)

Scrappy's Grandma's cat (so is Little Girl)
I don't know if I'm allergic to cats or not (probably), but Mom is (so we had to get rid of the cats we had when I was growing up); she's also allergic to dogs, so they were out as well
There's a rule about only one pet per apartment, and I wouldn't trade Ethan for anything
Most of the time, Scrappy sleeps at the foot of Grandma's bed--and that's fine, but "she can't keep putting her head next to mine."
I just checked the calendar, and December 4 is the first Sunday, when L?VC normally puts on their "Christmas in the Valley" program (I just realized it's the day after the bazaar)

Sort of a hollow promise because I enjoy my team so much, but if we get hit by space debris or something and we disband, I'm asking to come here first. Just so you know.
I haven't been speaking up much because my keyboard is skipping letters, and I really have to edit closely.
If I let it stay you'd swear I'm posting drunk!

I've been there before!
At least two of my teammates switched to me because not enough people (including their leader) were playing the team games. It makes no sense (about the one, at least, as he quit playing TVT because not enough are playing-the other guy still does, though)
I must admit the reason I abdicated leadership of Universal Protectors was (a) hardly anyone played the team games, (b) hardly anyone logged on, and(c) most often I was the only one in the message board). I almost wish I'd disbanded, rather than handing it to someone else (it's not fair to her, especially since she's busy with college). Oh well...

'Grandma played!'
She only does quizzes, not any of the team games, but just seeing her name excites me :)
An that teammate I spoke of surprised me: he did play TVT, and as of the time I played there were four other players (it's the first time in a while the numbers for Heroes and TVT match up)

Here are stories from September:

Wake-up phone call
Sue called before I was awake to say my package had arrived. Later, after I was moving, I called to let her know she could bring it up. It’s now sitting in my closet, waiting to be assembled.

I Don't get it
‘It must be the first time,’ I thought as the Desktop came up as soon as I pressed Enter. ‘I’ve gotten so used to seven or eight Symantech messages that anything other than that seems odd. Unless… maybe the ‘unexpected error[‘ popped up and I wasn’t aware. I’d just turned off the speaker so I could hear my digital book, and when I turned it on, pressed Enter one time and the Desktop just appeared!’ |

Justice Hall
I had to take several breaks before it was done, as it jarred the emotions so, but I finally finished “Justice Hall”. It’s one of the few mysteries in which I guessed correctly the identity of the killer. Oh, I was tempted at one point to change my mind, but later I went right back to my original guess.

About Time
‘The idea I had on Easter Sunday still fits.’ I’m now on tape nine and, after several revisions, have finally gone back to the idea I had on that morning. It’s about time—it enables me to make a fresh start after I finish with tape fifteen, since 15 tapes is the number I can fit into one tape holder. Some parts may fade in and out, courtesy of quality of the tapes, but at least no more have ended up in the garbage.

Not this time
I had a frozen turkey box dinner tonight. Makes me remember another box dinner, and the stupid decision not to put the flimsy container in anything before heating, so that the result was food splashing on the table and floor, scalding my ankle and blistering the side of my foot. But not this time: I’ve learned my lesson regarding shortcuts and laziness.

Third time around
Cousin Daryl’s getting married for the third time—the shower’s in a few weeks—and two of his siblings think it’s funny. She has a 9-year-old and he a 16- or 17-year-old, and apparently she wants more kids. And it looks like only the immediate family, meaning the parents, are invited to the bridal shower. “Maybe they’re not inviting the aunts and everybody.” – Grandma

The Polluters
I just started ‘The Poll uters: The Making of Our Chemically Altered Environment,’ by Benjamin Ross and Steven Amter. SazIt’s one of the few books the library has sent me on science topics that didn’t immediately put me off with the technical nature of the writing—or a writing style I can’t get into. From the ‘book jacket,’ I found myself disturbed: ‘”The Polluters’ reveals at last the crucial decisions that allowed environmental issues to be trumped by political agendas. It spotlights the leaders of the chemical industry and described how they applied their economic and political power to prevent the creation of an effective system of environmental regulation. Research was slanted, unwelcome discoveries were suppressed…” (Oxford University Press Web Site)

Two birthdays, one weekend
Two birthdays, two days: yesterday, Michael turned 40; today, Daryl celebrates his 46th.
And speaking of Daryl, Grandma has ten bags of newspapers to give him. She keeps trying to get ahold of the man, but it’s hard as he doesn’t have an answering machine. His logic? “Why would I want to do that when I can’t talk to them anyway because I’m not home?”

Appreciation notwithstanding
When I moved into my little apartment, I brought over things mom, Grandma and Janice had given me. Among the items Janice—and her husband Bill—gave me was a TV. I never got Cable installed because (a) I was afraid I’d wind up spending too much for a service I rarely used, and (b) thinking that there were other uses for the space it sat on.
Two years later, I’ve decided to buy a flat screen variety. I really do appreciate the gesture—thinking of me—but, space is limited in the apartment, as indicated above, and the tabletop could be put to much better use without the TV on it.
Until tonight, I kept forgetting to call Janice and Bill to see whether they wanted the TV back or not. Answer: “We’ll get back to you within the week.”

Not Lost
I couldn’t find the wallet I use for quarters, so I called Mom to ask if she had it. “Why would I take your wallet?” I thought, maybe, unintentionally… “Maybe it’s still in the Cadillac.” She explained she puts it there to transport downstairs.
What do you know, when I checked, there it was!
