Deadly Women
‘I’m taking notes, and I’m not talking about in the Pac Mate,’ I thought as the 8 PM showing of “Deadly Women” came on, ‘but I’ll do that, too.’
First was the story of a twelve-year-old Canadian girl who, along with her twenty-year-old boyfriend, disposed of her parents and eight-year-old brother. The motive? She was in love.
Next, a 27-year-old married woman meets 30-something police officer online and “manipulated him. He had no idea that the contents in his emails were lies… He wanted nothing more than to live with her. Among the stories she concocts: she’s pregnant with his twins, and her husband’s abusive—and that one day he kicked her in the stomach. And, out of a desire to be with her, he kills the husband—then realizes, when he sees her with another man, that “he killed an innocent man.” And so he goes to the police to turn himself—and this con woman—in.
The third story is that of a toxicologist and drug addict who murders her husband a few months after their marriage—and tells police he did it himself because he was distrqaught she wasdivorcing him. Meanwhile, the 27-year-old woman was having an affair with her boss and starts using meth again. “She felt the only way out was to murder her husband.” But her undoing came because she attempted to duplicate a scene from a popular movie.
Fourth was a woman who “believed she had special powers… no one was safe when Josephine was around.” At some point in a relationship, she’d become more and more hungry for cash—and her spouses would then become expendable. Finally, the police are able to charge her with fraud and murder by using “The Slayer’s Rule.”
The fifth story is about this young attorney who defends—and marries—a con artist, only to end up dead.’Elisa and Sarah became good friends, and partners in crime. They began stealing money from Larry, and the women couldn’t risk that he’d go to the police or something, so they killed him.’ “The idea of giving someone horse tranquilizer just boggles my mind.” And the two friends: Police arrest Sarah, and “take her into custody,” then apprehend Elisa “at a resort.” Sarah goes to trial, but Elisa dies in prison—killing herself before the appointed day.
Xixth, a 51-year-old millionaire marries a 333-year-old woman who takes advantage of his nice nature. “Peter had been good to Shirley,” but the end of the story ended tragically for him. She befriends a couple of drug users and claims that her husband’s abusing her—sound familiar? The three call on Peter and torture him for hours: “If he was conscious at all, it would have been terrifying.”

Cramp
I don’t li,ke stereotypes—but I have one in my stories: it concerns the relatives of the Dark. “Most people assume if you have evil relatives, then you are as well. Doesn’t work that way, of course—if that were the case, no one would be a Protector. But, unfortunately, there are a number of cases in which the stereotypical Dark One surfaces.”
I have a muscle cramp in my right leg. That’s what comes of not exercising regularly, missing an important warning sign, and possibly even sleeping on the couch. Now, I need to stretch often—but limit how much I do at one time.

Mother and Son
Silvia Hawthorne and Qydra Voliyno are mother and son, but to hear them interact you’d never know it. They’re highly suspicious of each other, and even attempt to kill each other. Normally, there’s at least one other demon the demon cares about, but with these two, it’s unclear.

‘What I don’t get is Qydra’s reaction once Ontario regained consciousness. It’s as if he decides to protect his cousin rather than be an observer.’
On tape nine, the Forces of Light are at a loss for what to do—and the Fairy Lord has told Silvia Hawthorne, AKA. “Mother Demon,” that she has “a few hours” in which to have her way with Ontario. ‘Then why render the 13-year-old unconscious, then when the young man wakes and begins struggling, threaten “Mama Fey” with bodily harm if she doesn’t leave?’
Qydra (in a deadly tone) Silviaa, I think it’s time for you to go.
Silvia (pleading): But I’ve just begun to—
Qydra (impatiently): Silvia!
Silvia (To Ontario): I think Waryn deserves a little brother or sister, don ‘t you? (Inarticulate noises of sheer terror from the young man)
Qydra (smiling cruely): Silvia, if you don’t leave now, Waryn will be minus a mother.

Sleeping Late
I meant to get up around 8 or 8:30, but between my sore leg and a headache, I didn’t wake until 10.
By then, Mom called to ask if I’d given thought to Wal-Mart. ‘It’s not that I don’t want to go along, but it’s probably not a good idea.’

Apparently, I didn’t check USA far enough, because Mom’s watching “Covert Affair” on that channel. She just called earlier to say:
Mom: I’m not dead yet.
Me: You don’t sound good, though.

Strange
“Every time I talk to you, you get stranger and stranger.” This I said to Michael when he answered the phone, as he has a tendency to goof off, and I couldn’t tell who it was at first.
He, Mom and I had a three way conversation. We laughed a lot about all the programs I’ve watched on TV since talking to him, especially “Snapped.” Then, I reminded Mom of the day she said she wasn’t coming to see me anymore because I was watching movies with “Fatal” in them.

Sins and Secrets
I missed the 2:00 hour, but the next show was one I wouldn’t have missed for anything:
A 21-year-old West Nashville woman was found on the east end, brutally raped and suffocated by plastic trash bags. Her 23-year-old boyfriend is discovered next to the railroad tracks—he’d also been raped, then shot three times and set afire.. Because of this case, “racial tensions threatened to boil over all across town.” Of the four suspects, three were sentendced to life in prison; the other, whom prosecutors had “more physical evidence” connecting him to the gruesome murders, was condemned to death in spite of the defense’s claim that the female victim “consented to sex for drugs.”

My Hands
I asked Mom to pick up an antifungal cream because I’ve begun to think, as she’s believed for months, that the “dead skin” is indeed fungus.
But when Mom came and told me I have another hydrocortisone, and what would I like to do with it, I asked her to give me that along with the antifungal.
