Welcome, all! Sit down on one of the couches, or pull up a chair: itâ??s all about comfort in my little place. Some of the furnishings have yet to be installed, but itâ??s still nice and comfortable :)

Music, food, games, talk--whatever you want :))

It seems I get more points when I'm not trying to get them (andwhen I need a distraction)

This guy's music was featured last night on "Echoes:"
http://www.darshanambient.com/.
Plenty of pieces to choose from under "music and video"

Mom stopped over briefly, but soon went home to cook before her concert (she's going to see Edward's Chamber Singers)

She would have asked me to go along, except that it's in a church she's unfamiliar with

Lainkan's taping it, so I won't miss anything

My favorites are "Dream in Blue" and "Mirage."

Grandma's helping me with the wash tomorrow, and she's looking at the handle that came off the cabinet on the table under Ethan's cage, where his food is kept.

Grandma came a bit early to help me with the laundry. I asked her because Mom wasn’t feeling well and she was pressed for time-though the explanation I gave Grandma was that time got away from us this weekend. “It takes up quite a chunk of the day,” as she put it.

She also tightened the handle on the cabinet door (the one where I keep Ethan’s food), and tightened another screw in my walker.

We had doughnuts with our lunch. Hers had cinnamon and brown sugar sprinkled on it, and a strawberry jelly filling. Mine was a Boston Cream. “There’s a sign up saying that, starting next month, the doughnuts are fifty cents, and you have to sign up saying that you want one.”

I got eight Christmas cards, seven of which Mom read to me yesterday before she left to get ready for her concert.

Got six Digital Talking books in the mail:
- “Honolulu”
- “Six Degrees”
- “Libby’s London Merchant”
- “An Impartial Witness”
- “The Best American Science Writing”
- “Spade March”

WITF was doing a pledge campaign on the TV last night, so “Great Performances,” which was supposed to be over by 9:30, wasn’t over until around 10:30. As a result, I didn’t watch all of “Trans-Siberian Orchestra.”

Received a Braille copy of my new social security benefits as of January. Also got an issue of ‘Daily Word’ (January 2012), and a ‘Science News’ (I got rid of that, as I have no interest in it at the moment-and have enough reading material).

Watched “Without a Trace” and “Once Upon a Time” last night, the latter program giving me some inspiration for the drama.

Changed “Village Streets” so there are sections within the prologue for Cehrvanakavreyda, The Prince, A Taste of Fear, and The King. The actual chapters start with the investigation into the toddler’s whereabouts.

Mom’s not feeling well, but she stopped by to put clean sheets on my bed and give me the cash she withdrew from my account. She also brought food:
- Brownies (4)
- Pasta (2 or 3 containers)
- Pepperoni stromboli (1 container)

Chris from the Alley Center called earlier, and he’s coming on Wednesday at 1:30 to help me get closer to my goal (getting the mail on my own).

The “top 25” or whatever it’s called is on Echoes this week. On WXPN, it’s on week nights from 11-1.

I might watch “Stolen Voices, Buried Seccrets” at 10 on Investigation Discovery.

I owe Grandma money for the yogurt and tea she picked up last week. I didn't have enough this afternoon, so I told hher I'd give it to her the next time I see her.

Four people have joined Purple Ninjas in the past two days

The other night, one of the women said (a) that White Christmas was her favorite song, and (b) if anyone wasn’t in the holiday spirit after listening to all that music they were. Bah humbug, I thought, and even said it to the TV. Most of the stuff I heard on that program was… OK at best. It was Andrea Bocelli and other performers. I’ve never cared for “Ave Maria,” so when that came on I thought, ‘are you done yet?’ I also thought, ‘great. Now I’ll have this tune in my head all night.’ I did like Andrea’s version of “Oh, Come All Ye Faithful,” and I’ve always liked the Italian of that.

My back and shoulders still hurt, which explains the headache. Looks like, as long as I do the right stretches, I’m fine.

I’ll see Chris next Wednesday at the luncheon, but we won’t actually meet again (for mobility) until January 4 (at 1:30 again). His next appointment is 3:30 or so in Ephratah (if I spelled that right, fine; if not, that’s OK too.

“Libby’s London Merchant” is a really good book (I tried “Spade and Archer” yesterday, but couldn’t get ijnto it.

Forgot to order groceries this week :(

Mom suggested calling tomorrow morning to see if I can still put in my order. "The ad doesn't say they don't take orders on the other days. I think they just encourage people to call in Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday."

We'll see

Grandma called earlier to check in on me. I asked her if she watched “X Factor” last night, and she said she did. As to whether she had any thoughts, she said no: she thought all the singers did well.

Last night, had any of my ten combinations worked, I would have voted. I didn’t form an opinion last week, but last night Melanie’s performance impressed me. But I didn’t vote because every combination of the number gave me a stupid error message.

I called Mom last night to remind her “X Factor” is on tonight, as she hadn’t seen it last night. “Maybe I should start reminding you the night of.” She made some jab about my not even being able to remember to order groceries… I then told Mom I think the person she likes may be going home tonight. “Say it isn’t so!” “I have a sneaking suspicion.” “I don’t like your sneaking suspicion.”
