An interesting experience this morning with the Zweier’s delivery.
The guy who normally does Thursxdays is no longer doing Thursdays, so he’s training someone to do that. So the two guys arrive at my apartment with two boxes of stuff.
The first box was put away, and he reaches in to the second: macaroni salad, hamburger bbq, pepper cabbage, and something else I can’t recall. “I don’t recognize this.” It took a few seconds, but the trainer finally realized “we have the wrong box.”
The trainee went out to the truck, only to realize it’s locked. So he had to come back up to get the keys.
Finally he came with the second box and the other guy commented, “Now we’re making progress.”
I put the rubber band and twist tie on the chocolate milk, since there seems to be some confusion about where I want it. So I figure I may as well do that myself, no matter how helpful they are (I’ve practically ruined the twist tie taking it off because of the way it was wound around the band the one time, and another time the guy simply tried to place the band over the top of the half gallon—in spite of the fact that I told him the twistie went through the band and then around the handle of the jug; similar to the skim milk, except that only gets the twisty).
Price of food: approx. $48.

I did some stretches before going on the bike, and rode for eleven minutes thirty-nine seconds.
My exercise goals are:
- To keep my feet from falling out of the straps, and, (most importantly)
- To avoid falls (at all cost)
Speed isn’t an issue with me, though depending what I’m listening to that will vary. All I really care about are the two goals, as well as this one:
- Riding longer than ten minutes a day (if I cannot, for whatever reason, I’ll allow at least more than five; less than that is unacceptable, but I’m finding is sometimes inevitable. If it must be five or less, the only way it’s acceptable is if there are no falls.)
If I have to, I’ll take a nap at some point during the day in order to maintain balance.

Chris called. He has some time tomorrow morning, so he’s coming to give me a mobility lesson around 10:30.
Just finished tape eighteen last night, and in the next few days will be reviewing sixteen through eighteen to make sure I did them right.
I keep having ideas for where to take the drama from here, but I’m not starting another tape without Tiffany.
Georgette wants to come over either this weekend or next weekend, which means I need to call her tonight. I know it sounds harsh, but I don’t want her coming next Saturday, as the day after’s my birthday, and I want that weekend “free of that kind of excitement.”
I’m going to tr y to get ahold of Tiff this weekend. I want to invite her over the weekend of my birthday—either day would suit me, but I’m hoping she might be able to do Saturday so we can work on the story. If not…
Statistically, the weekend of my birth has been either (a) snowy, (b) rainy, (c) icy. It’s getting so that I dread that weekend. There have been weekends when Tiffany had planned on coming down, then either had to cut her visit short or not come at all due to weather.

I actually wound up redoing sixteen, combining an old idea with a newer one, so am recording over seventeen and eighteen with silence.

Around 6:30, and again about twenty minutes later, the ladies from the elevator knocked on my door and/or pushed the buzzer. There was a package at my door.

One of my Braille magazines. I didn’t open the box until this morning.
Speaking of suspense, I didn’t get ahold of Mom until around 7:30. She was just leaving the office. Earlier, she’d had a dentist appointment, and was expecting some work to be done. But Dr. Silverman wasn’t the one who examined her, so yesterday he checked her x-rays, then her teeth, and concluded she didn’t need anything done. So Mom went back to work to complete some paperwork for next week )I still feel she could have called to let me know she was still at the office). Then, after she was home, it took me a while to get ahold of her to say good night. She was talking on the phone.
Ethan just squawked at me, so I better go pay attention to him (he's so spoiled, his nickname is "King.")

I took out a bag of trash and got the mail. Sue had two more packages for me, and Chris carried them up.

I redid tape sixteen, the part at the end, and just finished with seventeen part a.
I’ve rewound the tape so I can check it now.
My favorite line is when Ontario and Bheniyto are talking about how some days they feel too young for the responsibility on their shoulders, and sometimes like they’re too old.
“I’m young, old, and in between.” – Ontario
“Couldn’t have said it better.” – Bheniyto, trying unsuccessfully to repress hysterical laughter
After the tape stopped, I pounded the table and giggled for another minute. I can relate to that statement! As I said to someone the one day: “Twenty-eight going on fifty.” (Had anyone told me my life, and my drama, and even my story, would turn out the way it is, I’d have laughed in their face!)
Mom wants me to schedule a dentist appointment, and I honestly forgot to do that until too late. (I’ll call Monday. Mom will likely be pissed, but she’ll get over it.)

Mom had to call Reggie to come look at her boiler and the pipes, as she came home to find water everywhere. Reggie’s her coworker’s husband. He’s very funny. I remember one time, he said he had to buzz past me like a bee. He’s often at Mom’s in the winter, as there’s often a problem with the radiators or something. Or, sometimes, he’d come out to look at the plumbing in the bathroom.

In the past, Mom and I have gone out somewhere on my birthday. At least once it was Ruby Tuesday. Another year we did Friendlies. Just the two of us. Of course, last year was different as AI wantexd Marco’s, so the family came to my place. But this year, I want to go out to /Friendlies again. Mom told me last night she’s going out to dinner Saturday, so we’d have to do it Sunday. Not that I mind, as that is my birthday.

I callecd Georgette and talked to her, explaining that I’m busy next weekend, so we’ll either have tomorrow or the 28th or sometime in February for her to visit. She said she’ll talk to her mother tonight and see what they come up with. She’ll try calling me around 7 tomorrow morning (she had said it might be earlier, and I told her not before 7—I don’t wake up at 6, and even if I’m up at 6:30 I need a little time to wake up).

I redid tape seventeen side a again, but last night I finishedthe side, and listened to it this morning. It’s fine.
I didn’t hear from Georgette, and I don’t want to call while she’s resting or something, so I just figure something came up.
Mom’s coming over later with stuff from the butcher shop.
And I watched an episode of “The Unexplained” earlier.

Georgette actually did call, close to one, to say she’d be over around two.
I called Mom to let her know. At first, I think she had the idea I was telling her not to come. But that wasn’t what I was saying.
Georgette cleaned a package of grapes to eat for a snack. Then, as she was still hungry, I gave her a peanut butter granola bar. She also drank one full bottle of water and opened another shortly before Mom left (Mom said she’d drop her off, but she had to be ready when Mom was ready to leave, as she couldn’t come back.
Georgette dropped off the Gold Bond I asked for, and I paid her back $5. She also brought a small glass jar with lotion in from Marie, who used to be the Compeer Volunteer Coordinator (when she left, Jodie took over).
Mom brought the stuff she got for me at the Butcher Shop: a meatloaf dinner, stuffed shells, a chicken courdon bleu dinner, and another thing of meatloaf. She also brought over the box of twelve Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sandwiches she got at Sam’s Club.

Mom’s on her way to the mall to meet her friend Julie. She wanted to know it I was sorry to see Georgette go, as she didn’t stay long, but the truth is not at all. “She was getting on your nerves.” As a matter of fact.
Before she left, Mom was cleaning Ethan’s cage. She estimated they’d be leaving in twenty minutes, and Georgette wanted to put her coat on right away. “Sit down!” dwqMom was going to ask her what the hell she was doing, but I’m sure she wouldn’t hagve appreciated that.
