Welcome, all! Sit down on one of the couches, or pull up a chair: itâ??s all about comfort in my little place. Some of the furnishings have yet to be installed, but itâ??s still nice and comfortable :)

Music, food, games, talk--whatever you want :))

Seven thirty
“Seven thirty,” I said, breathing hard as I eased my left foot to the floor. “We’re down from yesterday, although—“ I let the statement hang there. ‘The right foot almost fell out once, and when it actually did fall out I thought it prudent not to I push it back in.’

H it or miss
Before Mom went to the birthday party, I told her about the movie I was watching. “I’m wondering if the movies on Turner Classic Movies are any good.” “They’re hit or miss.” “I’m beginning to see that!” ‘The same is true for Lifetime Movie—some of the films are as good as they sound from the summary, others quite the opposite.’

Movie
When I checked the listings for Turner Classic Movies, a few sounded good—but I missed the very first one. The second was called “The FBI Story” and, while there were some good points, it was a great disappointment. ‘It started interestingly enough, bu t at some point I had to turn it off.’

Movie two
At 8 PM, I was going to watch “Splendor in the Grass” on TMC, but then I hearcd LMN was showing a film adaptation of “Sundays at Tiffany’s.” It sounded good, so I decided to watch that. Unfortunately, I missed the very beginning, and with most films it’s not a good idea to do that. There was one moving scene that I did watch—but I soon turned off the set. “It’s OK, Ethan,” I told the bird, afraid my tears had upwset him, it’s the movie.” ‘Had I seen the beginning, I doubt I’d have turned it off.’

Stuff
“I have some stuff to put away before we leave,” Mom said as she entered the apartment. The first item was my winter comforter, as she had to take home to wash as it wouldn’t fit in the machines here. Also, she had some clothing—among which was a Rhehoboth sweatshirt and a thin bathrobe.

The Visit
Around 9, Georgette called from the bus stop to say she was on her way. I was here, but I accidentally knocked the phojnne out of the walker bag, and so missed the call. My first thought upon hearing the voice message was, “no use calling her back.”
Having eaten breakfast at five, she was hungry when she got here—so we shared a package of grapes. I hadn’t cleaned them yet, so I got out the collinder and she rinsed the fruit before dividing the grapes among the two of us.
Later we listened to Christmas music, did hand weights (and I my stretches). I also played some piano, and then we ordered from Marco’s. She got a small chicken tenderloin salad and a large cheeseburger sub with a diet Coke; I ordered a large chicken tenderloin sub, large chicken tenderloin salad, and a regular Coke. ‘I don’t know what they did, but the subs were soggy… as if someone did a rush job.’

First movie
I was going to watch “The Cursed,” but “The Party Never Stops” started earlier. ‘But you’re bound to miss stuff.’ That was because I had to take a bath and do more stretching before it got any later.
At one point I fell asleep, having worn myself out, but I didn’t turn the movie off once. ‘The ending was sad, and it was very realistic and well done.’

Later than expected
I missed some of the TV I’d planned to see as I slept later than I planned. I woke in time for “Ten Little Indians,” but wasn’t even paying half of my attention to it.

Second Movie
It’s one of the films I wanted to see on another day, but it was showing earlier and I was still sleeping. And since it came on before “One Hundred Feet,” “A Question of Privilege” was the one I watched. ‘I didn’t give it enough of a chance, and I missed some parts that would have helped me understand.’

Eight
At 8 PM, there was a movie on LMN entitled “Betrayed at Seventeen.” Mom called before the first commercial, so I talked to her for a while, at whicbh time I suggested we say good night as I had another movie after this one.
Before hanging up, I asked her how the concert was: “It was good. Me and Dani went to dinner afterward, and now I’m home and I’m pooped.”

After “Accused at Seventeen” was “The Boy She Met Online.” ‘It sounds good, but is it really?’

One fourteen
I was riding the bike during “Accused at “Seventeen” so I missed it. The going was rough—not even ten seconds in, I kicked the adapter off the wall, and slightly after the minute point I stopped. ‘The right foot didn’t want to go in, and once it did I felt as if I’d run a marathon.’

Unfair
I don’t like to judge people, and yet it’s almost as if I can’t help myself. Part of me thinks I’m being unfair to him; but I can’t see the “concern” Mom says he feels. “He’s concerned about you.” ‘Sorry, Mom, but I don’t see it.’

Eliminate
‘You have to eliminate something’ It’s what comes of checking TV listings for more than one channel—so much sounds like it may be good. ‘But what do you want to see now?’
Narrowing my choices, I get rid of the following: “”World’s Dumbest,” “Casper,” “Santa Buddies,” “Search for Santa Claus,” “Saved,” “Fatal Attractions,” “Paths of Glory,” “CIA Confidential,” “On the Case,” “20/20,” “Disappeared,” “Poison Ivy,” “Sorrority Wars,” “The First 48,” “Monster-in-laws,” “The Devil’s Advocate,” “Angels and Demons,” “Criminal Minds,” and “The Prophecy.”

National Geographic
The last program of the day was on the National Geographic Channel. At first, I was going to skip it, but when the 8:00 program turned out to be a rerun, I decided to watch it after all. ‘Only thing is I missed the beginning because time got away from me.’

Again, I slept later than expected. ‘I missed “Unsung Heroes of Pearl Harbor,” “Shadow in the Sky,” and “Dateline on ID.”’

Deadly women
‘Since when does “Deadly Women” air on Mondays?’ This week it does-it’s called “Black Widows Week” on Investigation Discovery.
In truth , “Black Widows Week” didn’t start until 8, while “Deadly Women” started at 5.
The first program I watched starts with the following: “These deadly women break that sacred bond when they kill their own.” The first story is about Darly, Darren, Evan, Damon and Drake. “Darren is the caring parent.” “The more attention Darren gives the boys, the more resentful Darly becomes.” “When Darly looks for someone to blame [for her problems], she doesn’t look far.” ‘So she stabs six-year-old Evan and four-year-old Damon, then “slit her own throat” for dramatic effect.’ Horribly, “Damon is still alive… struggling for each breath.”
Next: “Every child relies on their mother’s love to keep them safe and warm.” It’s the story of Frances, Balton, Farah and Adrian. “He was violent, she was violent. He sold drugs, she took drugs. What kind of future was there.” “She tells her family she’s afraid of her husband…” Her cousin agrees to go back to the apartment to “take care of” Adrian and the children. “Adrian is shot while he’s sleeping on the couch.” “She claims Adrian killed the children, then himself.” But authorities are soon suspicious when Frances attempts to cash in on the life-insurance: “Each policy was $50,000… She forged her husband’s name on the life insurance policy.” “With each shot, Frances thinks she’s scoring another fifty grand.” “She shot them very quickly, in succession, one right after the other.”
Next: “When a woman turns on a man, the results can be unpredictable.” Susan has had two failed relationships in the past, leaving her with four children. “Most of the time, she relies on her oldest son, fourteen-year-old Brandon.” “Susan believed the opposite of what most mothers think… She didn’t think she was here for her children; she thought they were here for her.” When Renee, her third boyfriend, “wants out [of the relationship],” she threatens to hurt the kids. “To placate her, he suggests they fool around,” and calls the police. “Her ex, Eric, helps Renee drive away.” “Susan had a restraining order against Eric,” so he asked the cops to look in on the kids and see to their safety. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do: “Susan ordered her sons in the same order that they came into her life.” “She executed those children and wiped away their hopes and dreams just for the sole purpose of getting back at the men in her life.”
Another hour, another show: “These are deadly women who hunt their victims as they live among us.” First up, Eileen, nicknamed “The Monster.” “The more she’s hurt, the more she strikes back.” “One victim was shot *nine times.” In total, “The Monster” snuffed out seven lives.
Next: “Female predators are often quiet killers.” It tells the tale of Dorothea, who buries seven victims in her backyard. She “preys on lonely men,” claiming to be a doctor. At first, all she does is steal Social Security checks—until prison hardens her.
In the third segment, “frail, sick old men” are poisoned by “a cold, methodical killer.” The name of the culprit? Anna. “Anna’s greed was insatiable, and it certainly compelled her to commit murder, but it was also a choice she made.” “The ultimate irony with predatory killers is that eventually they become sloppy… A common characteristic among serial killers is that they’re above average intelligence and they’re arrogant.”
The next hour: “These deadly women live with blood on their hands due to love gone wrong.” In the first segment, Tiffany and Rachel befriend Christine and Chris, only to meet the ultimate betrayal. “Christine’s attraction to Chris was really no surprise. Chris was an outsider. Christine had felt like an outsider all her life.” “Tiffany’s boyfriend was a druggie, and thanks to Chris Christine began using, too.” “He [Chris] was definetly not the kind of person Christine needed if she was to recover from her troubled past.” Because “Chris and Christine want drugs,” Tiffany and Rachel “soon become their enemies.” Each girl is shot numerous times, but Rachel is still fighting. “Drugs that turned her [Christine] into a killing machine now consume her life.””Christine killed the only two friends she ever had… She’s a very dangerous woman.”
It’s the sorry tale of a twelve-year-old girl dying at the hands of her own mother. “When love goes wrong, there are always casualties.” “She [Penney] is the poorest excuse for a mother I’ve ever seen.”
Speaking of “pure excuse of a mother,” the next segment is about Jenjnifer, who falls for a prison inmate. Therefore, she [a nurse with four children] moves closer to the place he’s being held, and even helps him to escape.. “All she did was hear the man she loved tell her to do something.” “Wayne Morgan, father of two, dies on way to the hospital.”
The 8:00 show was a rerun, and one I didn’t want to see, so I decided to do something else.

End of days
It was one of the movies on Si-Fi I kept missing for whatever reason, but really wanted to see. It started at 2:30, and the only reason I really watched as much as I did was because I sat next to Ethan while he kissed my finger and rubbed his head against it. ‘Remind me why I wanted to see “End of Days” again.’ It’s not that it was scary, and more that I just couldn’t follow it.

Packages
Sue came up with three packages: my backup walker and two magazines. I kept the ‘Braille Book Review’ and pitched the ‘Seventeen,.’ And, truthfully, Sue wouldn’t have had to deliver the packages, as Grandma was on her way up. ‘I did appreciate it, and she couldn’t have known.’
