Upset bird cage last night :(
Hand in cage, accidentally tipped it, food and water everywhere... out of food, Mom railing at me for being irresponsible: "If this happens again, I'll take him away and give him to someone who will care responsibly for him;" Mom had to go to the dentist, then back to work; didn't appreciate trip to pet store in between

Wrote new poem, called The Spill:
TV in background.
Hand in bird cage,
Lost my footing,
Try to pull arm back
Without upsetting cage;
Water and food everywhere.
Mistake, not checking food levels,
Not till this morning,
Just a few seeds.
Mom left work early,
Stop by pet store
On way back to office.
Threatens to take bird away
If this happens again,
Birds have fast metabolism,
Can’t go without food for that long.

I seem to be going back to one of my earlier poems with this:
Injustice, hardship, brutality.
Not so much.
Marrs all things,
To do things
That seemed impossible,
Things that later
Make no sense,
Naught but regret.
Reminds me a little of "Don't Hurt Me If I'm Different," though with much more emotion

I'm still trying to figure this out
Earlier, Mom and I were talking on the phone. She was going to the store, then for a bike ride. She said she was planning on stopping in to see me to see if I needed anything. I told her I didn't need anything; she interpreted that to mean I didn't want her to come over :(

Tons of fire engines
Where are they going
I don't know
But wherever it is,
Wafts the fumes
Through my apartment.

That last post helped me collect my thoughts to write "Sirens:"
Sirens, they make
If there isn’t
Something going on,
Is it a fire?
Or an accident?
All around me,
As I live
Near a station.
Only three engines,
So when I
Hear so many trucks,
I start to wonder
Where they’re coming from;
Then when I]
Smell smoke, the
Questions tumble about:
Where is it?
The day is warm,
The breeze is refreshing;
But I’m fearful:
Ground’s so dry
And so many sirens:

It was a four-alarm fire in North Cornwall Township. Before yesterday, I'd never heard of "multiple alarms"

I have to wonder what a person is thinking when he decides to throw a scooter, a child's scooter, at a vehicle. He caused a child riding in the car the scooter hit injury.

Wrote h following just now:
Horror grips me close
As the dream
Tightens its hold,
I know what it coming
And am helpless
To prevent it.
My Grandma sits at the table,
My mind is screaming “no,”
She topples off her chair;
I feel numb inside.,
Here sad, dark music.
I wake to the sound
Of the phone,
Jump out of bed,
The terror still with me,
Though the caller hangs up.
I open the window,
Breathe in great gulps
And calm myself,
Only a dream,
Nothing to fear,
All is as it should be.

I whipped up a new batch of party mix--and I'm going back to regular m&ms instead of peanut butter.
- 1 can cashews
1 can peanuts
1 bag raisnettes
1 bag m&ms
1 bag pizza-flavored goldfish crackers
1 box wheat thins
Pour some nuts, crackers and candy into a container you think is big enough for everything (I use plastic cannisters). Repeat until all ingredients are gone, mixing frequently.

Wrote up a new draft of a story, this one from Cheveyo's point of view. So far, here's what I have:
Note: "Here" means the School for Gifted Pupils
Notes 2 and 3a: Lysanto Morehnta, his father's name in Sentorian, committed suicide
Note 3b: At the time of his parents' deaths, he was just six or seven hears old
Note 3c: Unlike some characters, Cheveyo is not even part fairy, just an ordinary wizard. By this, I mean that he ages the same as everyone else--witches and wizards aging at the same rate as those in the mortal world. (I differentiate "mortal world" and "human world" because, technically, the School is in the human world; it *is,* after all, in England, not Sentoria or one of the other kingdoms in the "magical world." Of course, there are pockets of "magical communities," in the human world, the biggest of which is around the School. And a further point: even witches and wizards are human; as Maria's fon of saying, "Superhuman Powers doesn't mean Superhuman emotions." Translation: **"we're just as *human"
Note 4: *Please* feel free to ask for any clarification you may need. I do try to minimize confusion, but (as in life) sometimes nothing makes sense (but we still try to make sense of it). Perhaps your asking for clarification will help me clear up the point in my own mind as well. **Thank *you.
Does no one here have brains? I mean, I come here to help out, half hoping someone other than myself is self-sufficient, but when I arrive I’m so disappointed it’s not even funny.
It’s always hurt me that father chose Devlyn, the younger brother, and groomed him to succeed him as king. This, as it turned out, was a mistake in more ways than one. But I digress. Maybe it’s because, deep down, I still long for what I know I cannot have.
The details are fuzzy, primarily because I was just young when they happened. All the times I’ve struggled to understand in the passing years… but I can’t.
Here are the facts. My uncle Viktorio (don’t ask me to do that “great” nonsense—first, he doesn’t deserve it, and second, it just confuses me. I may be an intelligent wizard, more so than some, but that doesn’t diminish the truth… No comfortable way to say this, so I’ll just spit it out: my uncle Viktorio’s evil. Fortunately for us, he’s not so great in the brains department. Unfortunately, he doesn’t need them—not with… more on that later. The only thing worth of note here and now is he’s evil… and he killed my mother, right in front of my dad so he could see how useless his Powers were. And this… caused him… to… … …
I can’t write any more. All the pain… … … the guilt… … … the need to do something… … … anything… … … to run… … … …
