There was one time when, after Maureen got in a minor accident, he wrote a letter to me and said of the incident: “Maureen wrecked the car over a cup of coffee.” I remember I wrote a strongly-worded response about how callous he sounded: as Mom said when I told her, ‘That sounds like abuse.’ In his next letter, he said he didn’t mean it the way it came out on paper and that, if anything ever happened to Maureen, he’d be crushed.
I do sometimes wonder, though: ‘If he can bad-mouth Maureen’s family, what else is he doing that I don’t know about?’

I think some fundamentalists believe that the sins of the fathers are visited upon the children. Perhaps the fellow you mention eschews the grandson because the little boy is a "sinner" by heritage.

Children as sinners? They are pure and only become corrupted by life and actions of others unless they are very careful.
Also, it would not explain the abysmal treatment foisted upon the other members of the family unit.

I agree with Oatmeal's assessment.
Bart condemns everyone who disagrees with him. Every time he and Maureen left a church, it was (a) because they insisted on playing contemporary Christian music, which he believes is "God's words and Satan's music" or (b) the pastor he liked left, and the new one-and his wife, apparently-care only about money (and, at least in her case, sex)

Note: The incident I wrote about Tyler, Olivia Dwight, Lynzea, Pedro, Mario and Marissa occurred precisely ten years ago
Tyler documented everything on his computer

It boils down to him not liking anyone to disagree with him? What does that have to do with the comment about money and sex? Bart offered and the new pastor's wife refused?

I thought you were looking for opinions. I didn't realize the events were so long ago.

Mind you, I didn't call the little boy a "sinner,", or, at least, I didn't mean to. In the grandfather's eye, the child may have been tainted by the blood of his progenitor.

Well said, Oatmeal. That's what I thoughtyou meant (and what I'm sure he believes)
Daymare, I don't know how the money or the sex fit into the equation-it's all... interesting.
A few years back, I wrote to Bart asking him not to complain in his letters; he never acknowledged the request, nor did he honor it.
I value any opinions/discussion generated by the things I post (I'm glad I'm a writer, since fictional first names come easily to me)

Last night I drafted a story based on one of the games Elysha and I played. I didn't tell her then, or at any time, but the setting was, and stil is, in one of my kingdoms-though even the draft doesn't show that. The two main characters are Thomas Magnuson and his daughter, Amber. It seems to be a scene from a poorly-written horror film, complete with terrified screams (oh, by the way, I was sick at the time-I think it was one of the many times I had a respiratory infection, and may have been the time I had lower respiratory. Aside from that one day, Elysha and I didn't play that week on account of my persistent cough).
The scene from the game I wrote about yesterday that her brother andI played almost reminds me ofJurassic Park (and I don't really remember the movie as I couldn't follow it).
I used to watch a lot of Disney films, as I *could follow those, and I bought some videos that were "descriptive" (problem: their descriptions of visual scenes tend to either drown out the talking or give too much away). Favorites included 'The Jungle Book' (non-descriptive) and 'The Sound of Music (descriptive-I also have 'Anne of Green Gables,' but I only ever watched that one once or twice, and that was a very long time ago; I think, like certain books, it just bored me).

Today or tomorrow, she'll pick up two half gallons of tea and ten yogurts for me

I'm hoping the fact that I didn't revise each and every story I typed means that the ones I'm writing this year are better than what I came up with last year, some of which I can't read without (a) laughing hysterically at how stupid they sound, or (b) screaming "no, no, no, a thousand times no" at the top of my lungs

I don't think we got frost yet, but autumn chill is definetly in the air
It hit all of a sudden (as Grandma says, "this is how people get sick!")
