What are your favorite costumes of Halloween past?

What are you or your children/grandchildren dressing up as this Halloween?

HannahConner88 I don't remember many of my childhood costumes, but I know I went as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and I went as a Ninja one year.

This year my nieces and nephews are going as a Zombie, a Butterfly, a Princess, a Knight, and a Pirate.

And last year my youngest sister's three kids went as Buzz, Jesse, and Woody from Toy Story.

Since my grandchildren are all grown men, I doubt if they are donning Hallowe'en costumes. When my sons were still at the age to go trick-or-treating, we came up with some great costumes. Some I remember: the Lion (son #1), the Witch (son #2) and the Wardrobe (the wardrobe was a large box which they carried between them); a mummy (son #1) and a scarecrow (son #2); C3PO (son #1) and R2D2 (son #2). Al the costumes were home made.

My nephew, age 10, is going as Lady Gaga. I worry about that boy. I asked another nephew (I have more than I can count)if he was going to share his candy with his sister and his parents. He replied, "No way!"

My favorite costumes growning up were black cat, a indian, punk rocker, & even a Calfornia raisin. At my apartment complex we have a Halloween party with a costume contest. I won 1st place about 3 years ago dressed as mother nature. This year I'm planning on dressing up as a blind chef. My nieces Kayla dressed as a spider witch & her sister Kylie dressed as Dorothy from Wizard Of OZ.

Today at work I have a orange shirt on that has witches boots on it and the phrase, "If the boot fits. I have orange and black nails too.

The grandkids (ages 2 & 4) are going as Buzz Lightyear and Jesse the Cowgirl from Toy Story. (They look adoreable!)

~~Happy Halloween~~~

ElusiveDream It's not Halloween in Australia yet (we don't even celebrate it), but I usually dress up as either a Devil or a Gothic Charmer. In the past, I've dressed as a black cat, a vampire & a ghost.

I will probably wear the Anne Boleyn costume to the Zoo Boo (I am one of the costumed people inside the haunted house there) and the Slytherin student costume to work.

Caseena One year a made a Mr. Mistoffelees cat costume, with a black unitard, black fur vest and arm coverings, white leggings, and this weird black wig that I wore upside-down to make it crazy-looking, because it was close to Halloween and I still couldn't find a fur wig. It is my favorite costume I've ever made.

Caseena I went as a WWII medic one year. I got everything I needed at a fleamarket: boots (which were Vietnam-era, but close enough), trousers, jacket, canteen (Korea), canteen belt, aid kit, medic bag, helmet, and got a couple of things from my Marine friend who was happy to help me. Got everything for under $100. The only thing I couldn't get was the armband, so I had to go through ebay.
