Television is full of commercials/infomercials hyping the latest and greatest products.

There is usually a money back guarantee or 30 day trial period, but some viewers are still hesitant to buy.

I thought it would be helpful to hear your experiences in this area.

So, what products have you ordered, and do they work?

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

I ordered a CD from time life. It was suppose to come with a bonus CD, but I had to call them & remain them that I was entitled to that bonus CD.

veronikkamarrz There have been several items that I would have ordered, except that I didn't WANT two for the price of one..."Pay only additional shipping!" The charges for shipping are outrageous, and the link did not provide the option of buying only one. Go figure!:(

mikeeagle1 I never have. I am not a trusing person. I'm one of the few remaining people that I know who still enjoys going to the store to shop. I think it's about the instant gratification thing.

I have heard so many horror stories of ordering things off TV, I have steered clear of it. Some malls have "as seen on TV" stores where you can buy things that were in the infomercials, etc. I do shop from QVC and HSN. They are very good about exchanges or returns, except you have to pay the return postage, so sometimes you have to weigh that against just keeping the unwanted item. Sometimes, things appear different on TV than they do in real life.

I ordered the original OxyClean formula and also Professor Amos concentrated cleaning solutions.....both from HSN.... and yes, both products worked like a charm!

sasha67 I ordered the Comfy dog harnesses. They are really nice and work well especially since my bassett hates collars and will not walk on a leash with one. It worked and now she loves walks.

I've never had the grit to buy any of the products that are advertised on TV. I did watch a program once though that showed why you see so many products on the boobtube. I guess they use the television audience as a proving ground for many of the products and if they do well you'll see them coming soon to a box store near you.

I don't buy anything that requires payment by credit card. I don't give out my credit card information to anyone except my bank!

Well, Cym....you don't even have to give out your credit card information to your bank. They already have it.

Using a PayPal account is a safe way to do business online. I've been shopping on the internet for years, and haven't had any problems. Just avoid pop-ups or third party sites when shopping, and it's pretty safe!

Question: For those FT members who claim they'd NEVER shop on the internet......How did you Gold Members pay??? Did you get on a plane and pay Terry in cash??

Just curious!

There's probably as much chance of having your card details cloned at a dodgy retailers as there is of having it cloned online. A good rule of thumb is to check out the contact details of online retailers - if there's no correspondence address or landline telephone number I'd give 'em a miss.

Greatguggly I don't like to buy things I can't put my hands on first. I never believe things will work properly until I've tried them myself. The one exception that comes to mind is concert tickets. Those work pretty much every time.

Only once in the many years I've shopped online have I gotten an item I wasn't completely thrilled with. I sent it back and got a full refund, no questions asked. I didn't even have to pay the return postage. Yet, I've gotten products from local stores that didn't hold up for very long, but if the receipt turns up missing, I can't take the defective item back. For those of you who don't mind the crowds, spending the time and gas to go to a store, God bless you! I like the convenience of having the store "come to my house" and shopping whenever I have the time or inspiration.
