A long time ago I heard about a book entitled, "If love is a game, what are the rules" something like that. I don't know the author and the rules either. Anyway, borrowing the title of that book, for you, what are the 'Rules of Love or Loving'?

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Greatguggly You defend the ones you love with every cell you have whether they're right or wrong. That's rule number one for me.

Love comes from respect and acceptance of your loved one's faults. You can also love someone without being in a relationship with them.

Nothing they do can put you off them and you don't want anyone else than them. I am drawing on some long memories here but once I knew those rules that'll never change whoever and whenever it happens again.

Greatguggly The divorce rate these days is incredibly high. Making a marriage last that long is not only uncommon but to me it's very refreshing. It also takes a lot of hard work and patience. If I can manage to live till my mid 80s and my wife to her late 70s, we'll make it to 50 years too. If that happens, I'll consider it the single greatest accomplishment of our lives. A tip of the hat to you and your husband. Way to go and congratulations!

"To keep your marriage brimming
With love in the loving cup:
Whenever you're wrong, admit it;
Whenever you're right, __________!"

The blank is in place of a two-word phrase that won't get through the NannyFilter, but it starts with shut and ends with up.
