Well, another one has come and gone. I'm glad I didn't miss this one! Sir Paul McCartney, Springsteen, Beachboys, Glen Campbell....all brought tears to my eyes.

Nicki Minaj: Don't know WHAT to say about THAT!

What were your favorite (or least favorite) performances in this year's awards show, and do you agree with the choices of winners?

I thought this was one of the better broadcasts in recent years. For the most part it held my interest, except Nicki Minaj's performance which was so bizarre I turned off the sound and played FT. Loved Adele, Rihanna, Foo Fighters, McCartney and The Beach Boys. I do hope The Beach Boys will sound more polished when they tour but their music is so fantastic that it'll be a great concert anyway. I skipped "Downton Abbey" (difficult for me) to watch the Grammys and I don't regret it. :)

Daaanieeel I can't believe Bon Iver wasn't even NOMINATED for album of the year! In my opinion his album was the best of the year. Oh well, he did manage to pick up alernative album of the year and breakthrough artist. His acceptance speech about being uncomfortabale was a bit strange, but his right. Plenty of great musicians aren't even nominated.
Adele deserved her wins, I guess, but I wasn't amazed with her performance. Sure, she might have throat troubles, but she didn't really seem to show any emotion while singing. Unfortunately I missed the Foo Fighters and Beach Boys, I'll have to find those on YouTube.
All in all I think everyone deserved their wins and nominations. It was pretty good this year.

Greatguggly I think I could count on one hand the number of times I thought a Grammy was well deserved.

Greatguggly Even when an artist/band that I like wins, it's always the most commercial song possible, which makes the whole thing meaningless.

It was impressive how on such short notice, the producers were able to fit in a tasteful tribute to Whitney Houston.

Oh....and Foo Fighters rocked, as they always do! I agree that Adele's live performance was lacking, but overall, I like her. I have to admit I was tired of "Rolling in the Deep" by the end of the evening.

Each year, it seems that one artist/band sweeps an armful of golden grammys, and it would be nice if there were more musicians nominated and winning.....but what the heck, it is what it is.
