Subject: What's Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?

I don't believe that astrology has any bearing on reality, but it would be fun to find out what Chinese Zodiac signs are shared by FT members. I was born in the year of the ox (1937), and my husband was born in the year of the iron dragon (1940). Our two sons were born in the year of the tiger (1962) and the year of the wood dragon (1964).

Now I'm confused! I thought the Chinese zodiac was based upon birth YEAR...and not month. If I have this wrong, please feel free to correct me, and offer factoids that I didn't know about.

turbotude, the Chinese Zodiac is based on the year but it is the Chinese Lunar Year Calendar not the Gregorian Calendar.

I'm a Metal Horse from 1990. I'm not sure I quite fit in with the traits described for it, though.

I'm also Virgo, born at the end of August. I fit much better with Virgo traits, than with Metal Horse traits.

Dragon, 1940. Have two daughters-in-law and a grand daughter who are Tigers. Four sons, Rat, Ox, Rabbit and Horse. My Dad and brother were Rats, also my first son, my first and last grandsons, my niece, step-grand daughter, her father and another daughter-in-law. Best friend was a Dragon, 1928. Ex is an Ox, Other ex was a Rat. My BFF of almost 60 years is a Dog.

Chinese calendar years actually have 13 months, and the full moon is always on the 15th of the month.
