April's fool! I almost fell for it, but then... I didn't!

That's very sad news, Trojan.
*laughs head off*
(sympathetically, of course)

That's absolute rubbish, Trojan!
The medals aren't for sale at Sotheby's. They're on eBay! I've already made bids for the Cross-Country Sneezing, Cheese Rolling and Sheep Dipping medals. Wish me luck!

I've been doing it wrong - I've been looking at cars on eBay when I should have been looking for medals.
Has anyone taken the welly-chucking ones yet?

Fraid so, but bog snorkeling and dyke vaulting are still up for grabs and I hear a rumour that the very rare sheep hurling will be available in a day or so.

I've already bought the Hide and Seek.
I almost fell for this. That would have been embarrassing.

No, George, it wouldn't. Remember, half the world fell for the Spaghetti Harvest?

That one was actually true, Lesley. More than 65% of all spaghetti trees in Italy were burnt down due to spumanti dusting. The ramainder were snapped up by the USA to be weaved into BFL kits.

What a swizz! I've just tried to bid on the Wife - Carrying medals. As I know the competition will be fierce, I only went for the Bronze. But according to eBay, as I've been twice divorced, I'm disqualified - because I'm not to be trusted!

I'm going for gold in the rare sheep hurling. The things I can do with a Leicester Longwool need to be seen to be believed.

Good luck, and do please be careful with the sheep and ensure that the catching spikes are rust free.

Bev, please be very careful with the Leicester Longwools - they could be relatives of mine.

Don't worry, Red and Trojan, just brush up on the lyrics of the national anthem. No relatives will be hurt, I promise :)

Well really! My relatives do not have four legs, Blood, nor are they in the least bit wooly. We sport (pun) the genetic hump and shrivelled withers common to our tribe.
Nevertheless, I have prearranged in honour of your prospective victory a massed whistele palying of an Anthem.
Plagiarised shamelessly from 'Wuthering Heights', it is entitled, 'God Bless the Withered over All.'

Many thanks, Trojan, for the honour afforded me regarding the anthem. I solemnly swear that the wethers that wuther through the air at a rate of knots shall land nowhere near the shrivelled withers of your most esteemed tribe.

Withered wethers, then? I now foreit my gold foil wrapped chocolate chip cookie, and claim my place in the final of the numpty 3000m flat-on-face race.

Although I missed this thread on April 1st, I'm still enjoying the jokes....belatedly!
