Hello to all sprinters,

this thread will be used for the "W" clue set for the FunTrivia sprint. Each of the clues will be posted at some time during the release date (as early as possible) and then a post will be made in the game's main thread to inform you about the new clue.

IMPORTANT: Once each new clue has been posted, clicking on this thread WILL start your timer for the round. Thus, once the game starts, do not come here until you are ready to start writing for the week! (If in doubt, check the main thread first to see if the clue has already been released.)

POSTING RULES: Since this is the best, "safe" place to do so, you can ask any questions you may have about the clues here; thus, the thread will not be closed. However, please make sure you only post questions pertaining to the currently active clue - any discussions on past clues or general aspects of writing for the Sprint that do not spoil the clue for those who have not seen it yet should go in the game's main thread. Please do not send clue clarification questions by PM - any clarification request should be made in the open and the answer will benefit all players.

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

It's simple, PDAZ. We have no lives, our entire world centers around trivia and quiz-writing. We don't know what else to do with ourselves. We ponder, write a quiz about the first minute inkling we get, submit, and twitch. Nothing else matters in life but quiz-writing quickly.

Or is that just me?

Task 6 : Self-Improvement

For this task, you will go all the way to the deepest depths of your own profile. Deeper still. Almost all the way: Scroll down to the bottom of your "quizzes authored" list. Then, if you have more than one page of quizzes authored, go to the very last page. And then again scroll down all the way to the end. Got it? You should now be facing a really ugly monster: The very worst quiz you ever wrote.

And now go and do better: Write a quiz (which does not have to be related in any way) in the EXACT SAME subcategory. Not its parent, none of its children, the exact same one.

If that's for some reason not possible (the category is closed), you get to use your second worst quiz instead. Hooray.

As an example, Kyle would need to dig down to http://www.funtrivia.com/profile_quizzes.cfm?player=kyleisalive&listfrom=1321 and then write in "The Amazing Race 6". I would be doing a "Drop a letter" quiz to atone for the work of not-quite-art I produced in that area. And so on.

Got it? Have fun doing something better with that category than you did last time.

NOTE: If your worst quiz happens to be in a difficulty-based subcategory in General (e.g. Thematic 10Q Average), you get to break these rules and submit to the parent category. You will NOT be penalized if you don't hit the same difficulty level (so you'd in this case have to write a Thematic 10 Questions quiz.)

Don't forget - if (and only if) you missed the 30 minutes bonus in round 2 due to Kyle's late announcement, you may claim it in this round. Begin your self-improvement with the title and use an author challenge to do so!

I might just have to write a quiz for this clue in addition to the one I must do (hardcore) on Kyle's thread. Just because it won't be too difficult. :P Wordwise is my worst rated quiz. It's rated very difficult, perhaps impossible, so it wasn't rated too well. ;)

I like the task, but my lowest ranking quiz happens to be a Literature quiz. That means I need to find a book on my shelf written by an author whose last name starts with the same letter as the author of the book I wrote the quiz on! I have raided my book shelf and found an option or two...I just haven't finished reading them!

I was hoping for this one to be a quick one so I could make up some of the extra time it took me on Task 2, but this will be another long one for me.

I made a trip to the bookstore to get a book! What better excuse (even if my husband won't think so) to get a new book than for a Sprint quiz! :) Now, I am going to take advantage of being home alone, make some tea and snuggle up on the couch to get this book read!
