I will be using the line "Your candle burned out long before your legend ever will" from Elton John's "Candle in the Wind" tribute for Princess Diana. I went through the thread and saw Tiffany used a line from a song as well, so I'm hoping that counts.

I would like to use the last words from "War and Remembrance" by Herman Wouk: "Yet though their bones lie in the darkness of the grave, they will not have died in vain, if their remembrance can lead us from thelong, long time of war to the time for peace."
Is this Ok with you?

Task 8 – You just got U-turned
Remember the little game that inspired this one? It was called The Amazing Trivia Race. Your task will be slightly different depending on whether you took part in that or not. If you were a racer, you have now been U-turned: Pick any of the six Detour tasks and work the side your team did NOT complete during the race (if your team has been U-turned in the race, tough luck. You can't do either side of that specific Detour. Use one of the other five). If you were not racing, you have instead been W-turned: Pick and complete any Detour task that was picked by five or fewer race teams.
There's however a small catch to this: A maximum of THREE(*) Sprinters may work the same Detour (to ensure no single editor will suddenly be inundated with a dozen quizzes). Post your chosen leg number in the thread as soon as you have decided in order to reserve it – once you have posted, you are however committed to completing that particular task and can't change your mind.
The Race synopsis can be found at http://www.funtrivia.com/bb.cfm?action=details&qnid=26879&boardid=2222222&start=0. The detour stages were:
Leg 1 Clue 3: Geography (Australia or Arctic) – both sides are legal for non-racers.
Leg 2 Clue 2: Movies or Celebrities (movie stars) – non-racers must choose Celebrities option
Leg 3 Clue 3: Humanities (Art) or People (Explorers) – non-racers must choose Art option
Leg 4 Clue 3: Music (Lyrics or Instruments) – non-racers must choose Instruments option
Leg 5 Clue 1: World or Video Games – non-racers must choose Video Games option
Leg 6 Clue 2: General (Alphabetics or Numbers) – non-racers must choose Numbers option
(*) In the highly unlikely case that more than eighteen Sprinters choose this side, a fourth quiz may be added to each of the detours once the first 18 are committed. More than 24 can't happen since a few folks need to do Kyle's clue for hardcore :)

I'm claiming "Numbers".
Wait, I haven't said that in two clues!

All: Remember that any quiz written for this task must adhere to the entire clue as given in the race. If that clue asked for any restrictions beyond just the category, you must meet them, so be sure to check the race synopsis in order not to miss anything.

Hi Wes, I'm doing "Australian Back-Out" (author challenge from Kyle) in the Leg 1, Task 3 on Australian Geography. Trust that's OK

Surprisingly, while VG would be the easy pick, I'll take Music-- 'Instruments' is Leg 4, Task 3.
