Subject: - FT Sprint: Wesley's Clue Thread -
Date: Apr 11 12

Hello to all sprinters,

this thread will be used for the "W" clue set for the FunTrivia sprint. Each of the clues will be posted at some time during the release date (as early as possible) and then a post will be made in the game's main thread to inform you about the new clue.

IMPORTANT: Once each new clue has been posted, clicking on this thread WILL start your timer for the round. Thus, once the game starts, do not come here until you are ready to start writing for the week! (If in doubt, check the main thread first to see if the clue has already been released.)

POSTING RULES: Since this is the best, "safe" place to do so, you can ask any questions you may have about the clues here; thus, the thread will not be closed. However, please make sure you only post questions pertaining to the currently active clue - any discussions on past clues or general aspects of writing for the Sprint that do not spoil the clue for those who have not seen it yet should go in the game's main thread. Please do not send clue clarification questions by PM - any clarification request should be made in the open and the answer will benefit all players.

And now - have fun with the Sprint!

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

My 'Outdoor Activities' quiz has finally been submitted. My 'Sprint' is now closely resembling a stagger towards the finishing line!

This one is for Taz and I

I used single word answers as the option Wes.

Ours has been through two rounds of corrections now and I am hoping I can get this one completed properly before the next clue. I chose a bad title for my Category.

Task 12 – More questions than answers

For this final task, you may write any quiz you want in any category you (personally) have not yet used in this race. There is one restriction which however makes this quite difficult: All questions must have the same four answer possibilities and each of those possibilities must be correct at least twice. In addition, the following patterns may NOT be used:

- Numeric answers
- Proper names as answers (that means persons, cities, countries, and so on. If it's capitalized as a single word for being a name, you can't use it. You CAN however use titles, thus for example a literature quiz about "Which of Tolkien's books did this happen in" would work.)
- An answer set of the "only A", "only B", "both A and B" and "neither A nor B" type.

And here's one final bonus opportunity for those of you who consider this still too easy: Should you manage to make all four answer options EXACTLY 12 letters long and the same number of words without violating any other rule, I'll knock a full hour off your finishing time.

Have fun!

I guess we fail this leg then and I have inadvertenly started our next one as well.

You don't "fail" the leg. You already have a time, the question is just the Rvsn count. As to starting your new round - just go with the flow. This likely won't see many great times on either side.

My quiz has been entered in the Hobbies category. I had to give up on finding 12 letter answers even though I did look into it. Bonus or no bonus, I have thoroughly enjoyed the Sprint :)

And with that, you're officially a finisher of the Sprint.

My Sprint Leg 11 quiz is now on-line:

It's about a wide range of outdoor activities, rather than Harry Callahan!

Mariamir Oh dear. For my 11, the category has been practically done to death. :)

I decided it would take longer than an hour to find four good twelve-word answers that would fit in one of the ten available categories, so I just wrote it. Now, if you had offerd a 24-hour bonus ... :D

There-- queued up!
And it's a photo quiz (12 for 12).
And it's in General, as I hoped I would have for my final submission.
And it follows Wes' rules (including the twelve-letter rule).

Hope it passes muster.

Uf! I'm going to have to sleep on this one. I have 11 categories to choose from, but that's proving to hinder inspiration since I can pick any of them. Maybe I will dream something up tonight! Lol

My Religion quiz has been submitted.

I don't know if it would count towards the bonus, but all answers are in two words with twelve characters (either "Saint" plus seven letters, either "St." plus nine letters).

Oh no, I just noticed I couldn't use proper names...

Well, this quiz will stay submitted, but I'll have to brood on another one, for it will definitely not count towards the Twelve Labours.

As predicted, it would be a Caesarean...

Submitted. I think I've met all the requirements, although I couldn't face trying to come up with the 12 letter challenge. Fingers crossed that it qualifies, because I'm exhausted!
