GOAL
=====
Chris and I reevaluated whatever goals I had, and are working on the main one: to travel safely down to thee mailbox with the Cadillac.
Today’s session didn’t go as well as last week, because I made my body too rigid and didn’t relax—Mom calls it the tin man—something I’m afraid I do when I feel I’m about to fall. But there was a positive: I didn’t fall coming off the elevator, and I didn’t get confused as to the direction I needed to go.

HIDING SOMETHING
======
For years when anyone walked in the door, I’d switch the TV off and run to my room, pretending I hadn’t just been watching. Sometimes, I even changed to a different channel first; led Mom—and Edy—to conclude I was hiding something. And just why I did it is still in question, though part of it was most likely tied to how my shows would be perceived: though Mom always told me I could watch what I wanted, she often came down hard on me and criticized certain things I did, trying to stamp out whatever creativity I had in me and making certain comments about “Pretend Friends”—and, since the programs I watch have always provided me with an unlimited supply of inspiration, I think I preferred to pretend to hide rather than admit I’d been watching something “little kids” watch.

NIGHTTIME VIING
======
At 11 PM I had the following choices:
- #39, Criminal Minds;
- #47, CSI;
- #55, I Shouldn’t Be Alive;
- #71, Paranormal Witness; and
- #111, Deadly Women.

I watched Investigation about a 15-year-old girl who met an 18-year-old online and fell in love. Prior to meeting him, she’d always been close to her mother, but the more she saw her crush the more the girl came to despise her mother—who only wanted her daughter’s happiness. Girl wants to live with him in another state, but Mom says no, so the two teens hatch a plan to eliminate her. While the girl waits nearby, he kills the mother; afterword, she “cleans up.”
Another girl kills her three-year-old half brother to get back at her father and stepmother. At first, she denies slitting the boy’s throat and leaving his corpse in an outhouse, but later she confesses to a priest: “I think she ultimately wanted her father and his wife to know what she did.” She said, in her confession, that she’d contemplated murdering the stepmother then, decided it would be far better to “kill the one she loved the most:” “I’ll break your heart, just like you broke mine.”"

PART OF IT
======
I’m sure part of the reason I refused to watch TV in hospital was I knew I’d miss it too much if I did. Plus, in a setting like that, you have an uncertain schedule—and, for the most part, missing any of a program isn’t a good idea. So unless you’ve been watching from the beginning, it’s best not to tune in.

At first I flipped between them, but finally wound up watching Investigation Discovery. One segment I’ll not soon forget is the story of a nurse who married a doctor for his money, then became dissatisfied after he quit his job at the hospital to go into private practice. One day, he learned she was cheating on him and so decided to leave—this is the stuff horror films are made of—and, out of desire for attention and sympathy, she killed him: first, she administered a drug that rendered him completely paralyzed, then left him to die while she went to work. Later, she came back and set the house on fire in order to cover up her crime –the quote here is “it takes a murderer to kill a man; it takes a monster to make him suffer.”

TWO YEARS
======
It’s been about two years since I watched TV and, while some programs are the same, some are different. Take, for instance, ABC Family. It used to be that “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” was on at 8 AM, then again at 2 PM. Now it’s “What I Like About You.” And it used to be that “Sister, Sister” was on at 7 and 1; now it’s “Boy Meets World.”
------
"Full House" reruns are sometimes on at 9.
As of yet, they're only playing the sixth "Harry Potter" film at 8 or 8:30, so I haven'tseen it yet as I'd have had to sleep on the couch (it ends around midnight or so)

Just wrote a poem entitled "Best Laid Plans," in part based on a discussion Mom and I had earlier (yes, Mom's the "she" in the text):

Best laid plans,
As I have heard,
Often don’t turn out
The way intended;
Twists and turns,
Result in ways
Unexpected and, sometimes,
Unwanted.
“I’m sorry you cannot go,”
She says, sadness evident
In her voice;
But it’s not me
I’m thinking of:
I can deal with upset,
With disappointment,
But what about my friend?

Still no word from Compeer
Didn't expect to hear one
Two years running missed picnic
My fault last year skipped deadline
Tried this year still no dice
Had Grandma lined up
Then she got sick
No one else around to take us
I can process
Can deal
Not so sure
About Georgette
Intend to call
Tomorrow
Invite her
To my place
Saturday
Turkey sandwiches
And a movie
Might help
(Note: this post is *not* part of the original poem I wrote - just random thoughts associated with it)

Sue came up with three packages (magazines - "Ladies' Home Journal," "Seventeen" and "National Geographic."
Ida called. She'd found a ride for me, but not Georgette yet (this was around noon. I decided she should forget it, and both of us will try to get there next year. I don't regret my decision one bit, and Mom supports it.

I'm doubly glad I decided against going to the picnic, because Georgette wouldn't have been able to go anyway.
Looks like, once again, I knew something was up.
Revised plan includes TV showsI know are replayed on weekends, but feel would be too scary for her. Besides, can't really concentrate fullly with her around.
She just left the message on my cell phone that she went to the doctor's today, and she has bronchitis.
Another plan includes doing quizzes.

randma called earlier; she was bored
Mom got to the beach yesterday, and spent time "with the sand between my toes." Today, she and her friends went shopping on the boardwalk, spent more time on the beach, and went out to dinner (forgot to mention they did that last night too)

Good for your MoM! Friends, beach time...How very cool! Sounds like your G'Ma is doing OK, too. She may be bored, but she can talk on the phone, so...:)Good luck, kiddo!

Thanks, VM
Mom and Company return to PA sometime today
Michael comes home either Tuesday or Wednesday
The system told me that Grandma logged into FT yesterday (at least I think it was--but maybe Friday), no doubt trying to see what she could remember or something (must have had a note or something regarding log-in information, or I'm thinking she wouldn't have been in)
