First of all, what's up with the phrase "rules are rules"? It's either said by those who are too strict with their "enforcement of said "rules," or they're too lax.

Second I'd like to thank everyone reading this--and assure you, yet again, that my previous blogs having been deleted are completely and categorically my fault. **You did nothing *wrong.

Which brings me to another rant: why is it some people (nobody on here, I'm sure) can't accept responsibility for*anything. "If blame is to be going around... just don't look at me."

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Two new stories forthcoming: "The Battle" and "The Makings of a Relationship"

Watched "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" as well as "The Elizabeth Smart Story" (and the tale end of a movie about Amanda Knox, and also a bit of "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town")

TV dinner this evening - serving size container of chicken and rigatoni (I forget what the exact name of the sauce or spices is)

Mom didn't make it to the Market, but intends to go to the butcher shop tomorrow (she had dinner plans in Hershey after the race and driving Elysha back home)

Saw skip downstairs when I went for mail (digital book in box: the pope's second--didn't even know he wrote *one*)

Was reading a site of names (some are quite... interesting: example, I forget what the name is but translated it means "suffering." Wonder why any self-respecting parent would name a child that. Also found "Philadelphia" on the list of names. Wonder what the child's nicknam would be... Philly? Or maybe Delly. Came across a few where I stared at the spelling of the name and thought "how would you even pronounce that?")

More tales from the archives
10/8/11 - "Cut Short"
======
“Two Weeks Notice” was good, but I cut it short as I wanted to see “Nightmare Next Door.”
After thinking about it, “Masterpiece Mystery” lost its appeal—plus, there are back-to-back episodes of “Nightmare Next Door.

DEADLY WOMEN
=======
I didn’t watch the whole episode yesterday, but Investigation replayed it this afternoon.
The first segment I hadn’t seen involved a 19-year-old who brutally murdered two individuals in 2000. The defendant’s sister “sets out to finish what he started,” and, as she “blames her father for her brother’s crimes and fears her daughter will be sexually assaulted,” plans the man’s murder. “She goes to her brother’s friend, who uses three different weapons to murder his victim. She then goes to the police to report ‘what may have happened,’ claiming to have no idea of who did it. But police find ‘letters and a money trail’ between her and the murderer. She is then sent to prison where, although incarcerated for six years, is released in four. After that, she visits her brother regularly in prison.”

Next is a story of a 51-year-old in Erie, Pennsylvania, who plots to murder her father because she “believes her father is stealing thousands of dollars from her.” In all, she orchestrates two murders and an armed robbery. “She claims her mental illness absolves her of any responsibility.”

In another segment, “a girl desperate for cash to buy drugs turns to murder: On June 15, 1990, this deadly woman visits nine-year-old Autumn, who she lures to the bathroom. ‘She was stabbed in excess of fifty times.’ Then, leaving her victim, the murderer ‘went from room to room looking for items to steal.’ Two hours later ‘she returns to the scene of the crime,” and police are able to track her down due to a bloody footprint. In 1992, she is convicted and condemned to death.”

Yet another story is that of a woman who’s jealous of her neighbors, so much so that she spreads vicious lies that end in their murder. “Kim was a natural born killer.”

ONE THING I DON'T LIKE
=======
One thing I don’t like about programs that are on only once a week is that, (a) you have to wait a week for the next installment, and (b) by the time the show comes on again you’ve already forgotten what you saw before.

Tonight I told Mom it’s been a week since I heard from Georgette, and that I called her twice after her doctor appointment. When I called the first time, on Tuesday or Wednesday, I left a message—but on Saturday or Sunday, I didn’t.
Mom suggested (a) she’s busy, or (b) she and her family went to visit her sister in Virginia. In other words, I “worry over nothing.”

Tonight, I left her another message—asking her to call me back when she could—and she did. Turns out, the doctor diagnosed her with bronchitis—but other than that, she’s fine. As for her sister, apparently her fiance’s been dishonest with her, so she doesn’t know where the relationship’s going.
