Called Sue today, and she did indeed get the slip. No need to authorize, just needs the information in case of emergency.
Talked to Grandma, who was afraid of "invading my space." Not sure you could, I told her, and now things are set for her to sleep over :)

Those chicken dinners are expensive: $3.81
I forgot to put it in my original order, so called back. Apparently, the other stuff had been rung up (the total came to $46.54).
Fortunately, this week I only asked for one of those dinners.

Began another draft of "Trainee"
Worked more on drama last night [I think I'm surprising myself with some of these new ideas]
Waiting for delivery to get here
Mom told me last night to start thinking of things I may need later in the week [on Friday, before her trip, she'll get the stuff]
The way the narrator reads "Shelter" makes certain parts hysterical

Searching more lists of names
Mom and I made a plan for tomorrow, as she didn't wash my clothes yet (or, at least, she hadn't when I talked to her). She was also getting ready to take a walk with her brother.
Grandma was discharged from physical therapy today
Picked up the mail: what looks like junk mail, and two digital books (one of which is a biography and, as I'm particular about those, won't be reading it; the other is a book three in a series or trilogy that comes before a book they already sent me [knowing some of the characters, I'll listen to that one]

She forgot to bring my clean clothes, but changed my sheets (and took my dirty towels with her as "something in there smells like dried vommit")
She did bring three containers of pepper steak and potatoes, as well as a dish of sloppy joe and two more rolls
And she gave me a butterfly kiss (I'm ashamed to admit that I pulled away and said it was weird - later I called to apologize, saying it's ben so long since I've gotten one that it felt weird)
Talked to Eric tonight, who's preparing for his job as a residential manager at the Colorado Center for the Blind
And I had to call Sue to report cigarett smoke (it's been a while, possibly because when the fan'srunning I don't smell it, but wen I had to turn it off while using the microwave I smelled it, and remembered how I did yesterday when I left the apartment - it was thick enough that, had the air not been on, I'm sure I'd have been unable to breathe; m my mistake was not reporting it yesterday, as I couldnt be sure where the smell was coming from)

Haven't written a poem for a few days (this one's called "It's Always Something")
It’s always something,
Never a moment to rest;
One day a meeting,
The next an urgent call:
Or maybe a rundown piece of equipment.
I often envy
Those who say they’re bored,
As if someone else
Is supposed to entertain them;
I used to be one,
But then life sped up,
And now I just wish
That it would slow down.
If only life
Had a pause button,
Or at least something;
Some way to keep
Everything from
Happening all at once.
I used to wish
For more excitement,
But now I’ve got it,
I want less:
Sometimes, having more
Isn’t the best!

I'm pleased to hear that you're not putting up with the cigarette smoke. In every group, there's one person who thinks the rules don't apply to them. Why is she living in a non-smoking building when she has no intention of not smoking?
"Those who say they’re bored,
"As if someone else
"Is supposed to entertain them;"
Brilliant!

Grandma and I were talking about this yesterday. Her opinion? “That’s a bunch of sh*t.”
All Sue does is talk to Audrey, who claims she hasn’t been smokingl. HELLO? WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?
“Why is she living in a non-smoking building when she has no intention of not smoking?”
Question of the decade.

Imagine my surprise when I turned on the tape and was greated with Aunt Janice’s voice (Bill’s, too). It was a letter from the summer of 2000. Did they send this? If not, why not?
In July of 2000, Janice and Bill were still living in Ohio. At one point, Bill challenged me to another checker match when I came back out as “I have a score to settle with you.” In his own words, I beat him fair and square, but… He struck me as perhaps the sorest loser of all.

After work, she went out to eat with Ruth and the kids. Then she called me for my store list, and came over afterward. Shaylee, who’s now eleven, came with her, and was really excited to meet Ethan. While I put shirts on hangers, she whistled to him—then, as I was running out of shirts, Mom got him out so Shaylee could hold him. At one pointk, he went flying over toward the kitchen, and I kind of overreacted because the fan was running (I heard Mom say that kind of fan won’t hurt him, but still… there’s the draft!)
I got to hold Ethan a little, too, but Shaylee came right over and was crowding him. I’m guessing that’s why Mom came over and asked him, “wanna come?” (She asked him the same question when Shaylee was holding him—she was so excited, I’m afraid she scared the little guy.)
In addition to the food she bought (this time she used my card, as there was more than enough in the acco unt), she gave me some money (she asked me directly if I had cash, and I sheepishly admitted I didn’t); she also gave me the card itself “just in case” (I told her I didn’t think I needed it for anything, but if she wanted to give it to me just in case, I’d take it).
She left to go home and pack, and later I asked (when I called to say good night) if she’ll pay the student loan (next month I’ll make it a point to get the information so I can take care of it myself).

Staying in condo. Pool and fitness center. Storms and showers forecast all week.
Mom tookher bike. Plenty of exercise opportunities if weather turns nasty (during vacation in Ocean City, forecast was for beautiful skies. It rained the whole time.)

I got mail today. Several Braille magazines, two Digital books (one a repeat) and a pile of print mail.
Trouble with mailbox at first. Card taped to box on left obscured half of mine.

I was looking back at your posts, and I think $3.81 is reasonable for a dinner...If that's all you need. If you go to McDonalds, it'll be at least $5.00 for dinner. Just add a small salad, and it's still less than $5.00!:)
