First of all, what's up with the phrase "rules are rules"? It's either said by those who are too strict with their "enforcement of said "rules," or they're too lax.

Second I'd like to thank everyone reading this--and assure you, yet again, that my previous blogs having been deleted are completely and categorically my fault. **You did nothing *wrong.

Which brings me to another rant: why is it some people (nobody on here, I'm sure) can't accept responsibility for*anything. "If blame is to be going around... just don't look at me."

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Apart from a few minutes of either show, I missed them in order to visit with Mom and Stephanie.

THE VISIT (October = one of the good months - no matter what I said to the contrary)
======
Mom and Stephanie brought chocolate and pumpkin whoopee pies with them. I had one of each; then, Mom got the bird out for a bit. While Steph was holding him, Ethan kept looking at me and chirping—something he’s never done before, though his mouth moves as if he has something to say—as if he to say, “Me want Mommy!” So Mom brought him over to me, but then he decided he wanted to fly, and smacked Mom in the leg on the way down. His breaks have never worked right—once, he landed in the kitchen sink, once on the floor in front of me, once on the floor behind the desk, once on the couch, and once on the refrigerator. [It made me laugh reading this; sometimes I laugh at the time, but I'm really panicking inside because I'm afraid he'll hurt himself]

After picking him up, Mom brought Ethan to me, where I let him sit on my shoulder—this confused me, as I was once reprimanded against that very thing. At first, he didn’t want to let my finger go, but then he rushed over and began kissing my ear. Then, he had to go in—for Mom was afraid he’d fly again and hurt himself. And as he’s still in the moulting stage, she put four drops of vitamins in his water.

SATURDAY'S DISAPPOINTMENT
======
I’m very disappointed in ABC Family, for it’s obvious they overedited **101 *Dalmatians. ‘This is a movie I should be able to follow, but which I can’t follow at all.’

NOT OVER HER [do I hear that song "Not Over You" in the background?]
======
The names in this story have been changed to protect those involved—another way of saying it’s of a confidential nature:

About a year ago, Warren and Justine’s relationship crumbled to dust. For a time, Warren was on antidepressant and antianxiety medication—but just recently, he up and quit.

Lucinda, his mother, often reports that Warren gets mad at her for apparently no reason at all. “He gets angry with me for Interfering in his life, yet expects all the details of mine.”

DID YOU, PERHAPS, FORGET TO MENTION THAT WARREN'S IN HIS FORTIES?[The makings of a tragedy]

======
Last night, his friend of 25 years, Kenneth—whom he no longer calls—came to the house to celebrate his birthday. Warren wasn’t there—most likely, he was at a bar, where he spends most of his nights before coming home—that is, if he does.

Last night he walked in at 11:30—and immediately demanded to know who’d been there. “Kenneth smokes filters, and Warren doesn’t… I almost asked him why he wanted to know—that would have been what he asked if I asked something about *him.”
------
PITY THIS STORY ISN'T FICTIONAL! [even if the names are]

Lucinda also reports that during the summer her son would drive around Justine’s workplace just for a glimpse of her. “It’s kind of creepy.”

OKTOBEFEST [that seems like a lifetime ago]
======
This sounds like something out of a cheesy horror film: Mom’s going out to Oktoberfest with friends, and it may just be the one on Spook Lane (she’s not sure where they’re going, and they’re all over, but she did tell me it’s going to be a scary experience).

THE CALL
======
Georgette called to ask if she can visit, not this weekend but the weekend after. We might play Uno when she comes, or watch TV, or order out—channels she likes are Si-Fi, History and Discovery.

ETHAN
======
It looks like Ethan likes the TV. Earlier, he was picking at the bars of his cage. After I said something to him, he looked at me and chirped real loud and demanding, as if scolding me for something. Then, when I turned on the TV, he chirped and carried on as if to say thank you.

AGAIN
======
It’s happened again: a wrong number calling the landline. And we had the following conversation:
Caller: Hello?
Me: Hello?
Caller: Who is this?
Me (suspiciously): Who is this?

WELL, THAT WAS QUICK!

THE PRICE
======
Mom’s not feeling well today: “It’s a sore throat, it’s a headache, it’s a backache—I did tell you I fell yesterday?” No, as a matter of fact, she hadn’t—I definetly would have remembered *that. All she told me was she screamed a lot on the Haunted Hayride and in the Prison of the Dead.

Sounds like somethig you'd here in a movie - or read in a horror novel
======
Mom: I fell in the Prison of the Dead.
At least she had fun at Oktoberfest—even if it did come at a price.

WHEN IS THIS? OCTOBER SEVENTEENTH (I CALLED IT NOTHING, BUT WHY?)
======
One of my neighbors rang the buzzer to ask if Grandma or I had smelled the smoke this morning. She said she talked to Sue, who promised to “look into” the complaint: “but she never does anything.”
While we were talking I had to shift position on account of those smoke particles being that strong. And to make matters worse, the complainer has emphysema!

------
NO WONDER IT'S TITLED "NOTHING"

Audrey’s the only one who smokes on this floor—and she knows full well she’s not supposed to in the apartment. There’s a rule against it, and there are two designated spots: one outside, the other on the sixth floor balcony—for bad weather days only.

IF I KNEW THE RIGHT PERSON TO SEND THIS TO, I SWEAR I'D EMAIL HIM OR HER AND SEND AN ATTACHMENT WITH THIS AND OTHER DOCUMENTATION

I’m fortunate in that my reactions are nothing other than bad allergy: headache, nausea, sore throat, that kind of thing—but still…

I DOUBT I'LL BE WATCHING THIS YEAR, BUT WE'LL JUST SEE:
======
“Halloweentown” was on Disney tonight, and it’s one of those few movies no matter how many times I see it I can’t get enough—ppossibly because it’s only played once or twice a year. The second one’s tomorrow night, and I can’t wait. [I THINK I MAY BE SICK OF THEM, ALTHOUGH THE FIRST TWO STILMAY BE GOOD ENOUGH - AND WHO KNOWS? I MAY BE SICK OF A DIFFERENT ONE, AND CONFUSING IT WITH THIS.]
