He, Mom and I had a three way conversation. We laughed a lot about all the programs I’ve watched on TV since talking to him, especially “Snapped.” Then, I reminded Mom of the day she said she wasn’t coming to see me anymore because I was watching movies with “Fatal” in them.

A 21-year-old West Nashville woman was found on the east end, brutally raped and suffocated by plastic trash bags. Her 23-year-old boyfriend is discovered next to the railroad tracks—he’d also been raped, then shot three times and set afire.. Because of this case, “racial tensions threatened to boil over all across town.” Of the four suspects, three were sentendced to life in prison; the other, whom prosecutors had “more physical evidence” connecting him to the gruesome murders, was condemned to death in spite of the defense’s claim that the female victim “consented to sex for drugs.”

Mom left a cosmetic case at my apartment. “It has some medications and makeup in it… must have fallen out of my purse.”

I asked Mom to pick up an antifungal cream because I’ve begun to think, as she’s believed for months, that the “dead skin” is indeed fungus.
But when Mom came and told me I have another hydrocortisone, and what would I like to do with it, I asked her to give me that along with the antifungal.

The other week I started crying because I missed Mom’s friend Curtis, and so I decided to draft an email to him. Then, until today, I forgot to check my hotmail to see if he’d responded.
He did, but I couldn’t read it—or do anything else useful.

“OK, now we’re gonna have to get it,” I thought as I slammed my fist on the desk. ‘I think, being young when the library sent the book to me, that’s why I didn’t like it.’ But that wouldn’t have been the first time they sent me something that wasn’t age appropriate.

THAT WAS OCTOBER, AND DO YOU THINK I'M STILL GETTING IT?

I decided to reschedule with Chris because one of my legs is hurting—it’s the left. So now we’re meeting next Monday at 1:30, and he’s going to call before he comes.

I forgot to see what movie was coming on Disney at 8:30, but even so I was early turning on the TV, so I was able to watch “Twitches” from the beginning.

I don’t know why, but certain fruits and vegetables tend to dry me out, like an allergy or something. I’ve noticed it with carrots, fresh pineapple and, tonight, strawberries. It only lasts a few hours—and wasn’t as bad tonight as I grabbed a drink as soon as I could.

It’s like a scene out of a poorly-written horror: I was rooting around in the refrigerator, and had just found what I wanted to eat—a chicken finger sandwich—when I d a container of chicken lasagna on to the lower shelf, and the lid popped off, unloading its contents. The second shelf had tea bottles and a package of grapes on it, and that’s why I didn’t see if I got everything or not—I managed to find a piece of lasagna, but I didn’t know if that was everything or not. Turns out, it wasn’t even half of the container’s contents.

“When you need a true friend/I will be there for you/Any time, day or night/I will be there for you/I will sit and listn” – original composition entitled “I Will Be There For You”
I only have about half of these lyrics written, but it reflects my innermost feelings on friendships—especially the very last line: “Just tell me what you need/And I will give it to you.”

“There are times when all looks bleak/When cold winds blow, and we feel all alone/But through it all Love’s always there/As long as you believe in it.” – Original, “We Must Not”
I try to remember the lines to this one when I’m upset, particularly the one that says “we must not get swept away/by hatred, fear and loneliness.” Ironically, the inspiration for this song was a Celtic number—itself entitled “We Must Not.”

“I can’t erase and I can’t rewind” – Skillet, “One Day Too Late”
What happens if the one you wrong is yourself? That’s the question I ask as I consider my fall, and subsequent hospitalization, a year ago. All I could think, at the time, was how much I missed Ethan—and how it was all my fault I wasn’t home with him.

‘It’s all my fault. This I thought after listening to the three messages Georgette left me. ‘she sounds so dejected…’ Some highlights follow:
- “Hi, Jaymee, it’s me Georgette, your best friend…”
- “I really want to talk to you…”
- “I wish you’d talk to me…”
- “Call me back on your cell phone or house phone…”
- “If you don’t want to be friends anymore, just let me know…”

AGAIN, IT'S TOO BAD THIS SCENARIO ISN'T FICTIONAL [the names are, though]

On October 2, I wrote up a story which I posted in my blog, involving two coworkers, Clarice and Carla. Carla’s since left the same workplace, but every now and then she thinks of Clarice—especially if the name of a resident they knew pops up.

And that’s exactly what happened when Carla saw an obit for a Mrs. Carson. Turns out, it wasn’t the same lady—a fact which Clarice proved one day at a meeting.”I just saw Mrs. Carson,” she told her friend later on the phone—after sending her a text which read:
‘I see dead people’
