First of all, what's up with the phrase "rules are rules"? It's either said by those who are too strict with their "enforcement of said "rules," or they're too lax.

Second I'd like to thank everyone reading this--and assure you, yet again, that my previous blogs having been deleted are completely and categorically my fault. **You did nothing *wrong.

Which brings me to another rant: why is it some people (nobody on here, I'm sure) can't accept responsibility for*anything. "If blame is to be going around... just don't look at me."

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Roused by phone, but when I got out here person had hung up

Another call later, this time the Republican Party

Reminds me of the other night, because I agree with Mom: we're both registered Republican, but that doesn't mean that's how we vote.

This voting strictly party line isn't helping anything.

Mom wants to sell the house because it’s too big for her to manage herself, but at the moment it’s a buyer’s market, so she’s been encouraged to wait a few years. She never intended to care for the place herself—the two story house, big yard *and detached garage. She does pay someone to mow the lawn, but as she’s rarely home it really doesn’t seem worth it anymore. “I’ve traveled more in the past three years than I have in my life.” She told Eric I’d “probably make a face,” where the truth is I’m always glad for her—and if anyone would ask if I wouldn’t rather go along, I’d say no because I’d only slow her down. Besides, there are only so many places a walker can go freely (and there’s the fact about me not liking crowds).

When I spoke to Mom, she said Grandma was bored. So she had this thought that I should invite her over, as she doesn't have any appointments coming up--it would be just for fun.

I thought about it, and called back. How about next weekend? Specifically, Friday.

We hung up so Mom could rest--and so I could call Grandma.

Called Grandma, and the "excuses" (of old) began: it was like when I used to invite her up for an hour or two, like the time I wanted her to come for dinner. "Well, I'll see how I feel." That's what she started tsaying just now, and she changed it to: "We'll see what's going on."

Talked to Mom, who tried to calm me down:
- "You know she's a homebody"
- "...got an appointment at the eye doctor on Thursday, and probably has it in her mind that she'll be able to drive again as soon as he orders new glasses, but I don't see them getting her new glasses right away"

Elysa's back living with her dad, though Edward's still living wih friends. I can only hope Edy's settle down so that the environment's safer for his daughter. She's currently helping Mom with yardwork.

And I'm currently watching "Sins and Secrets."

Mom's "in a heap on the couch" with a headache.

She managed to get some work done before the rain came.

There wasn't thunder, but the Cable cut out twice.

And we're under a flood advisory :(

Tonight was the season premier of "Deadly Affairs."

And I stayed up writing a new quiz.

Now I must go to bed.

Everyone enjoy yourselves, and behave until I get back :)

Some conversation is always welcome

Good night [uh... I mean, good morning... off to snoozeland...]

Blasted typos--"Elysa" = Elysha. (The Y gets a long e sound.)

Her brother gave her a nickname, Ysha--apparently, he couldn't say "Elysha."

And, as they say, "it stuck."

Got chores to do (I did yesterday, too, and didn't get everything done--call me lazy)

Mom has her own chores to do, plus she and Michael are going for a bike ride

Made up my salads yesterday, and will eat one soon

I've got a good reason to hate this week: **the eleventh's on a Tuesday this *year :(

I first noticed that on Thursday and sat here thinking, "tell me that's not true"

I may not have lost anyone that day, but that's hardly the point: and the fact is I "sensed" something bad was going to happen early that morning (around 7, as I was on my way to the bus stop)

We didn't have English class, instead watching news screens until the bell rang

I should have known.

Had a nightmare this morning before I woke up.

Didn't expect it today, but *do* expect the same (but worse) tomorrow.

The way I see it, Mom and I better do our visiting tonight, because tomorrow I won't be fit company.

I can't turn to my drama (as I often do to destress) because **it adds to *it.* (The machine's making a not-so-good noise almost all the time now--but not oddly enough, when I'm listening to the books I bought from the library). It used to only make the noise sometimes, but as of last night is much more (besides, the new idea I had isn't complete, and that kinda tends to add to stress, too).

Pan called to let me know that Sue's in a meeting and can't make our 10:00 appointment. She'll call wen she's done.

Just called to report smelling cigarette smoke both days this weekend. Saturday,it was just in the hallway; yesterday it was in my kitchen

Sue just came for my recert. She asked me a bunch of questions, then left to go to another meeting.

It didn't take long for her to print out the forms, so she came up again almost right away.

Mom came over briefly. She's got a hair cut appointment, and then she's got to go to bed as she needs to be at theoffice at two in the morning.

She brought two containers of tuna casserole and two of pasta wit sausage.

She also helped me clean up (I spilled trash, and one of my Cokes somehow got all over the bottom of the refrigerator).

In other news, I got seven digital books in the mail.

It's "bad boys' week" on Investigation Discovery. Last week's special programming (from 9-11 AM and 1-4 PM) was "Revenge week," and the week before that it was "wicked women week."

Was watching "Fatal Encounters" this afternoon.

Time for sleep, but AC not as cool as last night :(

lesley153 No, no need to move on - I'm happy sticking with the Wicked Women.
