First of all, what's up with the phrase "rules are rules"? It's either said by those who are too strict with their "enforcement of said "rules," or they're too lax.

Second I'd like to thank everyone reading this--and assure you, yet again, that my previous blogs having been deleted are completely and categorically my fault. **You did nothing *wrong.

Which brings me to another rant: why is it some people (nobody on here, I'm sure) can't accept responsibility for*anything. "If blame is to be going around... just don't look at me."

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Clash of the Gods
======
I wanted to see the 9:00 program, but I was too tired. And I missed more than half of the 10:00 show, which told the story of the Minotaur. First the myth, and then any factual evidence to support it. ‘One word: cannibalism.’

The next showing was about Medusa. “If looks could kill, you would be dead… Behind the story lies a shocking reality.” ‘Descriptions of this monstrous being are gruesome, but if myths teach us a lesson surely this is no different.’ “Medusa, the symbol of evil, starts out as a symbol of purity.” ‘Can you get more ironic than that?’

He Thinks He's God
======
“Don’t you think it’s strange: he’ll ask you about me, but he won’t call and ask how I am.”
“It’s like he looks around for you each time he’s there.”
“He thinks he’s God.”

I talked to Georgette tonight and we made plans for her to come over tomorrow afternoon and have lunch—I said I’d treat, but she could pay me back if she wanted, as she clearly didn’t like the idea of me paying for her. And then she mentioned she saw Edy yesterday at the Y: “I told him I was good… and he said that his kids were over to your mom’s every night, and he wishes she’d spend more time with them due to their ages… I thought, ‘Are you for real, Buddy?”’

A. Mom, Elysha and Edward are always busy; she spends time with them when she can, but it’s hardly “every day.” B. When he still lived with us, Edy made some erroneous claims, one of which was that Mom “abused” the children. “And now that they’re older, he wants her to spend time with them?”I couldn’t help blurting this out to Georgette, though I later felt bad about it and urged her not to tell anyone.

11/19/11 - Hit or Miss
======
Before Mom went to the birthday party, I told her about the movie I was watching. “I’m wondering if the movies on Turner Classic Movies are any good.” “They’re hit or miss.” “I’m beginning to see that!” ‘The same is true for Lifetime Movie—some of the films are as good as they sound from the summary, others quite the opposite.’

Or some, better than expected

Movie
======
When I checked the listings for Turner Classic Movies, a few sounded good—but I missed the very first one. The second was called “The FBI Story” and, while there were some good points, it was a great disappointment. ‘It started interestingly enough, but at some point I had to turn it off.’

Stuf
======
“I have some stuff to put away before we leave,” Mom said as she entered the apartment. The first item was my winter comforter, as she had to take home to wash as it wouldn’t fit in the machines here. Also, she had some clothing—among which was a Rhehoboth sweatshirt and a thin bathrobe.

Movie 2
======
At 8 PM, I was going to watch “Splendor in the Grass” on TMC, but then I hearcd LMN was showing a film adaptation of “Sundays at Tiffany’s.” It sounded good, so I decided to watch that. Unfortunately, I missed the very beginning, and with most films it’s not a good idea to do that. There was one moving scene that I did watch—but I soon turned off the set. “It’s OK, Ethan,” I told the bird, afraid my tears had upwset him, it’s the movie.” ‘Had I seen the beginning, I doubt I’d have turned it off.’

The Visit
======
Around 9, Georgette called from the bus stop to say she was on her way. I was here, but I accidentally knocked the phonne out of the walker bag, and so missed the call. My first thought upon hearing the voice message was, “no use calling her back.”
Having eaten breakfast at five, she was hungry when she got here—so we shared a package of grapes. I hadn’t cleaned them yet, so I got out the collinder and she rinsed the fruit before dividing the grapes among the two of us.
Later we listened to Christmas music, did hand weights (and I my stretches). I also played some piano, and then we ordered from Marco’s. She got a small chicken tenderloin salad and a large cheeseburger sub with a diet Coke; I ordered a large chicken tenderloin sub, large chicken tenderloin salad, and a regular Coke. ‘I don’t know what they did, but the subs were soggy… as if someone did a rush job.’

11/20 - Eight
=====
At 8 PM, there was a movie on LMN entitled “Betrayed at Seventeen.” Mom called before the first commercial, so I talked to her for a while, at whicbh time I suggested we say good night as I had another movie after this one.
Before hanging up, I asked her how the concert was: “It was good. Me and Dani went to dinner afterward, and now I’m home and I’m pooped.”

First movie
======
I was going to watch “The Cursed,” but “The Party Never Stops” started earlier. ‘But you’re bound to miss stuff.’ That was because I had to take a bath and do more stretching before it got any later.
At one point I fell asleep, having worn myself out, but I didn’t turn the movie off once. ‘The ending was sad, and it was very realistic and well done.’

Unfair
======
I don’t like to judge people, and yet it’s almost as if I can’t help myself. Part of me thinks I’m being unfair to him; but I can’t see the “concern” Mom says he feels. “He’s concerned about you.” ‘Sorry, Mom, but I don’t see it.’

11/21 - Deadly Women
======
‘Since when does “Deadly Women” air on Mondays?’ This week it does-it’s called “Black Widows Week” on Investigation Discovery.
In truth , “Black Widows Week” didn’t start until 8, while “Deadly Women” started at 5.

The first program I watched starts with the following: “These deadly women break that sacred bond when they kill their own.” The first story is about Darly, Darren, Evan, Damon and Drake. “Darren is the caring parent.” “The more attention Darren gives the boys, the more resentful Darly becomes.” “When Darly looks for someone to blame [for her problems], she doesn’t look far.” ‘So she stabs six-year-old Evan and four-year-old Damon, then “slit her own throat” for dramatic effect.’ Horribly, “Damon is still alive… struggling for each breath.”

[Story fodder] ---
======
Next: “Every child relies on their mother’s love to keep them safe and warm.” It’s the story of Frances, Balton, Farah and Adrian. “He was violent, she was violent. He sold drugs, she took drugs. What kind of future was there.” “She tells her family she’s afraid of her husband…” Her cousin agrees to go back to the apartment to “take care of” Adrian and the children. “Adrian is shot while he’s sleeping on the couch.” “She claims Adrian killed the children, then himself.” But authorities are soon suspicious when Frances attempts to cash in on the life-insurance: “Each policy was $50,000… She forged her husband’s name on the life insurance policy.” “With each shot, Frances thinks she’s scoring another fifty grand.” “She shot them very quickly, in succession, one right after the other.”

------
For the record, the first segment is more "story fodder" than *that*

Next: “When a woman turns on a man, the results can be unpredictable.” Susan has had two failed relationships in the past, leaving her with four children. “Most of the time, she relies on her oldest son, fourteen-year-old Brandon.” “Susan believed the opposite of what most mothers think… She didn’t think she was here for her children; she thought they were here for her.” When Renee, her third boyfriend, “wants out [of the relationship],” she threatens to hurt the kids. “To placate her, he suggests they fool around,” and calls the police. “Her ex, Eric, helps Renee drive away.” “Susan had a restraining order against Eric,” so he asked the cops to look in on the kids and see to their safety. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do: “Susan murdered her sons in the same order that they came into her life.” “She executed those children and wiped away their hopes and dreams just for the sole purpose of getting back at the men in her life.”

I even quote differently now--and I don't do paragraph summaries of such programs

Another hour, another show: “These are deadly women who hunt their victims as they live among us.” First up, Eileen, nicknamed “The Monster.” “The more she’s hurt, the more she strikes back.” “One victim was shot *nine times.” In total, “The Monster” snuffed out seven lives.
