I missed the very beginning, tuning into biography in time to learn that a man’s teenage sons disappeared shortly after he was beaten to death in his home. Police put out an APB on them, and the next day they walked into the station—accompanied by a known sex offender. And family friend.

Terry, the father, couldn’t get a job. The kids’ mother left. All four children were placed up for adoption—the twins, as well as the oldest, eventually were, but the second youngest was sent back home to live with his dad because he was that distraught. Later, Alex’s older brother was also sent back, as he was just as unhappy with his foster parents and they couldn’t provide for him anymore. |

Alex and Derek became pretty much isolated from others, but later befriended Rick—nobody is certain whether Terry knew about his criminal past or not. ‘After the boys vanished, they claimed to have been living in the woods, while Rick claims they were staying with him.’ Later, the teens confess to murdering their father; the police, though, suspect Rick put them up to it. |

Last year, when I was going to Drayer Physical Therapy, I met one of the therapists, named Jessica, who happened to be Mom’s therapist when she went there.

Andrea, one of the nurses at Manor Care from 2007, was a fellow HACC student. I’m not sure of her exact hours, but she worked afternoons. ‘Another nurse, this one during the day, was Bonnie. She and I used to joke around all the time. Other nurses and therapists, from the Kaplan, included Irene, Debbie, Darleen, Kelly, Penney and Diana.’ It really is a small world.

I’ve always been told I had a good memory, and every now and then I test it. Tonight, I thought, I wish I could remember what channel Mom’s ABC Family uis so I could tell her. ‘I knew it was in the triple digits, but not the 100’s. “As always, when you’re trying to think of something, you can’t; stop trying, and there it is!” #311.’

The 7:00 show was a rerun. My favorite is the one where a guy goes into a pet store and stuffs a turtle down his pants. ‘His mother returns the animal the next day.’
