Once again, if you're up to the challenge, those who sign up over the next few days will receive a title at random from the bottom of the Author Challenge list. Any remaining that aren't claimed at random will be up for grabs as normal after the first. :)
As usual, the 'Stepping Up' challenges aim to clear out the oldest titles still waiting to be claimed.

Those who wish to receive their titles at random will need to select their titles as soon as possible, otherwise they risk them being taken too soon. Your name will be placed next to a title when they're announced.

To be claim a title you must state that you are doing so here, then accept the challenge from the list at the link above or else it will not count.

Otherwise, anyone who says they want to sign up for a random title may do so until midnight on Friday (the 18th). That's when the titles will be posted. :)

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Ok, I want to do this, but I'm new to this so I want to be sure I'm reading it right. We can either claim a title from the bottom of the list of our choosing or we can get our name on the list for a random title. Correct?

What happens is on Friday, a dozen (probably more) titles, all of which are at the bottom of that list, will be posted here. You may claim any of the titles there, once they're listed, to contribute to the task.

For an extra challenge you can toss your name into the mix now and you'll be assigned, at random, to one of the titles that gets posted. It's kind of like the Commissions only you'll know the possibilities beforehand.

With the randomizing on this one I use a random number generator-- just for those wondering if Sir Randomizer is involved.

I only ask for his help on Commissions and it usually involves a lot of blind pointing or numbers out of a hat.

The titles will only be randomized and posted on Friday-- if it's claimed before they're posted, it will not be included in the listing.
