I have been suffering for this problem for about 4 years. I read that about 20% of the population suffer from this. Do I find any fellow-sufferers here?
P.S. I know that any MEDICAL ADVISE is not allowed here, so if you choose to answer, avoid it. I only ask if there are any people who have it and how you cope with it. I´d like to hear your story.
P.S.2 There is no MEDICAL ADVICE:)

As for me, it started in October 2008 after a heavy flu and very strong ABs. First I decided to ignore that, but after some two months I yielded to it and I got a massive depression having been unable to do anything but to lie and cry and annoy my family. I even contemplated suicide. Several times I stood at the balcony thinking about jumping down. At that moment I realized that this was the right time to go to a psychiatrist. He prescribed me some ADs, that helped not directly against the condition, but I calmed down. Than I started going about 6 miles a day. (which made my dogs very happy). Today I live quite in peace with it. I accepted it as a part of my personality and learned how to ignore it.

I started feeling this while in the army. I served with the field artillery. I can usually blank it out during everyday situations. The time that it is the worst is when I'm going to bed. I have a fan on while I sleep. I find the ambient noise helps. It can drive me crazy if I sleep over at someone else's home and I don't have that 'noise' to help me. I toss and turn. It can be really frustrating.

veronikkamarrz I do not suffer with Tinnitus, but have a friend who does. There are dozens of You Tube 'cures' or different ways of dealing with it. William Shatner is a sufferer, and had interesting things to say. Good luck, Jolana.

sasha67 I was diagnosed with Menieres Disease in January. Besides being dizzy I get tinnitus. Its awful. I have good days and bad days. Im on low dose valium. One thing you can do is keep your stress level low.

Horrible it is. I get ringing, swishing, buzzing, popping. Some days are worse than others. I also find that after I have been in a noisy enviroment the noise in my ears are worse.

I've had it for years, the constant ringing in my ears. Most of the time I can ignore it or tune it out, but sometimes, especially when I can't sleep, it drives me crazy.
