Videos can easily be taken offline, or changed, for any reason. It would not be advised to link to anything that could change easily.
At least with Wikipedia, a page might be updated, but a factual page on the matter is a lot less likely to be removed or completely changed. I still avoid using a direct link, I might mention Wikipedia, but I still view it unwise to use the entire link for Wikipedia.
I would highly advise AGAINST using Youtube links. I am 99.9% sure it would not be accepted by the editor to have such a link in a quiz. It's just too unpredictable.

Thanks for that Salami.... I suppose that a better idea might be to give players one or two keywords and a recommendation that they search youtube afterwards if they'd like to see the sketch... How does that sound?

That sounds great. That way, they can look up many different videos, and if anything were to happen to a specific video (copyright issues, whatever), they can still find a different video completely and still get what you wish. :)
For instance, if you wanted to show players a music video to a song, say "Fly" by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna, it would be better just to tell them to look up "Fly" than to give a link... I know of a few videos of that song that were removed because of copyright issues.
So it does happen, and I think your solution is a much better one. :)

The other problem with video links is that the comment sections are not always family friendly. We don't want to be sending players to a page where there is a foul mouthed argument going on in the comments.

That is a salient point Agony.... Unfortunately the internet is full of that kind of garbage, we can't wrap everyone in cotton wool though.

No, best we can do is not directly link to it.
As an editor, I have allowed direct links to various websites if I think they serve a real purpose - this is the kind of thing we tend to take on a case by case basis.

Agony's point about a case-by-case basis is important and plays a major part in accepting quizzes about viral videos (in Entertainment). Because the internet is fast-changing and temperamental, the goal is to accept topics that have widespread appeal. This is to ensure that people not only know the topic, but so that we don't need to post the link and bring people to that site. The people interested in finding the video (for instance) will find it themselves very easily.
I wrote a quiz about Rebecca Black's 'Friday' last year. If I had've posted the URL, I'd have been in for a surprise; her video was taken offline by the original posters and then reposted under her own different account. Unsafe links are just as likely as defunct links.
