I'm speechless.
The worm is turning, methinks.
Could this be a tipping point?

One of many, perhaps, and starting to snowball. Wind turbine manufacturers are cancelling jobs and banks are calling for "restructuring" of their debts, which sounds like the kiss of death for any business.
They've been getting away with it for years but now, thanks to the miracle of global communication, a rather better-informed worm may be about to bite back!

Absolute classic. Once people see this, what's not to believe? It's a confession, no less.

I don't know. If people have been taken in, and argued for it, for years, it's going to be painful to let go. It's not always easy to admit you've been taken in by a scam of any size.

The scheme is crumbling: slowly, but it is crumbling. Who was it said "It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled"?
When we have failed to be sufficiently outraged by an imaginary threat to the planet, what will be the next ploy? Rumour has it that the next "threat" will be an alien invasion. That should be fun.

My city was blackmailed by the Sierra Club into purchasing electricity produced by wind turbines, in order to avoid lengthy and costly lawsuits. It was revealed today that the city lost $12 million dollars purchasing "wind power" electricity last year. Illinois sits on top of enough coal to last a thousand years, and we aren't allowed to mine or burn it.

Margaret Mead was not a fraud. The guy who wrote a book (after her death) claiming she was a fraud was later discredited.

I don't think her anthropological study's status had any connection with her wish to apparently destroy (and doing quite well so far) industrial society to rid the planet of, well, human beings. Deliberately making up scary scenarios as Stephen Schneider and others since have promoted to get people to alter their lifestyles is a crime against humanity whichever way you look at it.

I'm sure I will become the most laughed at person on the 'Global Warming. or Wind Farms' thread...But, I always thought that the wind farms would be a great thing.
I live in Northern Nevada, where the wind blows almost every day. I assumed that the wind things would make tons of power...Well, evidently the wind blows TOO strongly, and too often here. Good grief! I'm not thinking about it anymore. Done. ;)
