Topic: Commission XXIII - 'A-Game' - COMPLETE

Posted by: kyleisalive

Subject: Commission XXIII - 'A-Game' - COMPLETE
Date: Jul 04 12

Welcome to Commission XXIII!

For this Commission, it's time for you to bring your A-Game to the table! Each participant must submit/receive a title beginning with the letter 'A'. This includes prepositions (the title, in this case, can not start with 'The' and be followed by an 'A' word; the word 'An' is allowed provided it is followed by an 'A' word). For instance 'The Apples' is not acceptable, but 'An Apple' is.

In addition, all quizzes can not be submitted to Animals...or any subcategory on the site beginning with the letter 'A'.

As always, you may only sign up if you already have a couple quizzes already online. If it's your first time joining a Commission, please don't hesitate to ask questions; myself and our authors are glad to help. The submitted titles should be sent directly sent to me (kyleisalive) via PM.

In addition, if you have an active Commission quiz and you wish to join this one, you will need to complete it or speak to me via PM.

All participants must have their titles sent in (to me) by Saturday night FST (July 7). Titles will be handed out soon after; the deadline will be 11:59pm FST.

These quizzes can not be used in conjunction with other Lounge activities (excluding the Pan-Galactic).

Good luck!

The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Wenray and I have already had the discussion about people who fail to show up to their own party, Creedy! I was only offering her some encouragement, since you'd abandoned ship.

(I am, of course, joking, just in case anyone took this comment seriously).

Glad you're finger is getting better, Playmate :)

We have a tiny little spider here, among all our deadly pests (including endless football telecasts) with a really vicious bite. One of my cousins had to have half her finger removed from it. It hangs round in garden beds and gets you when you're weeding. I can't remember what it's called. Looney Tunes or Wen will possibly know. It looks so helpless and defenceless, but uh uh.

Ugh, I'm giving myself the creeps here. A huge one - not that sort - jumped on me once. That was the first time in my life that I hit high C. It was about six inches across!

(Time to check under the desk again)

SBH I also sympathize about the spiders. Something got me on the leg two or three weeks ago and I had such a bad reaction I was beginning to think "hospital". It's still not entirely back to normal. I can't imagine how it would have affected a finger!

SBH's quiz title came from Daaanieeel.

Coachpauly's quiz title came from Adams627.

Both authors received the badgelet. :)

Point of clarification, please, about the use of subcategories starting with A. Can we pass through one starting with A to get to a more specific one that doesn't? For example, a quiz about villains in the novels of Agatha Christie would go in Literature, then Authors A-C before being filed under Christie, Agatha. Is that okay?

Creedy, I think you are referring to the red-back. They are small and live under rocks and stuff in the garden and their bite can make you very sick. Another one is the white-tail, so it could be either of these.

Aha - it's the white tail, Wen! Thanks. I knew you'd know it. I just looked it up but it says it doesn't cause necrosis. Tell that to my cuz. She didn't have her finger cut off for fun.

Yes. As long as it's not in 'Animals'.

My mind is still toggling between two ideas. the first I have all the answers written down, so I know every question and what it will be like. The other one, which has nothing, will be more enjoyable and be written faster. The other is harder and will take longer, but probably be better in the end (and, as mentioned, already mapped out). Decisions decisions. :-)

Do them both - the second one can have the same title with a slight variatin. That's what I ended up doing for Life, Death and Beyond.

Iwas thinking I'd eventually do both... But one idea would incorporate a few answers from the other one, though, so not sure. :-P

LMAO here ... and thanks for the clarification LT and Kyle.

That scenario was too close for comfort LT ... I backed out of my first option because the Category was Literature, subcategory Authors A-C .... (though it wasn't Agatha Christie I was Looking at)

Have chosen another peth and will stick with it

Daaanieeel I've had an idea, but it is in a restricted sub-category. We'll see how it goes.
