Have I ever mentioned how much these inanimate objects that make apparently arbitrary decisions and send us racing around madly trying to work out what they want drive me crazy? At least I had fun writing the quiz and drooling over all the salads, and a thumb always looks nice, so all is not lost.

Bqack in the old days when gas stations had driveway service, you might say "Fill 'er up!" to the person who came out to deliver the fuel. Perhaps the meter would like a quiz about cars?

Or containers that can be filled? I think I'll try that one today. It would be great to get this finished off and meet that requirement for February Pot Luck. Anybody interested in checking out other possible approaches?

Those who worked on the last two meters may remember that paying close attention to every aspect of the meter's messages is key.

My first time here, so I hope it's okay if I play, too.
I have no idea what the earlier clues were, but this one - seen in isolation - seems like a cryptic clue that may have to do with the letter H, since that is what the word HER ('ER) needs to be filled up.

Anything is possible when you are dealing with a cryptic clue - have a go!

I've looked over the last Quiz-O-Meter and the one before that. Both times, it was something similar. The clue is in quotes, and the solution was to write a quiz with the title. Perhaps someone should try that. I can't think of a quiz with that title, so it can't be me.

I was thinking the same thing, Buddy. I also have no clue what to write though, so it won't be me either. ;)

I've used that for the title of my in-the-works container quiz. I'm hoping that the use of quotes is in the same way it is in Excel formulae, indicating that the exact text inside the quotes is to be searched for.

Submitted, with fingers crossed. Third time lucky for meter 3?

I submitted one with "H" in the title, but probably a wrong guess. It's in the Religion category - only my second one there, so I don't know if I'll have corrections to do or if it will get in on time.
I have an Adventures in Authoring quiz to do now, and there's still King John in the Shakespeare. Still having fun.

Good thought, nanny. These meters can be asking for anything. You gave it a shot, and produced a good quiz. :)
