I've always wondered about Braintree, Massachusetts. Kalamazoo, Bad Axe, Dafter, and White Cloud, all in Michigan; St. Cloud, Sleepy Eye, and Good Thunder, all in Minnesota; D'Lo, Shivers, Buckatunna, Chunky, and Yazoo City, all in Mississippi.

My little town is 'Lompoc' and if you are a W.C. Field's fan, you might remember 'The Bank Dick.' It was filmed here, but he kept saying 'Lom-POCK' instead of 'Lom-POKE.'
Try saying 'Port Hueneme' or 'Najoqui Falls.' (Why-knee-me' and 'Nah-ho-wee.')

Washington State has a few odd places like Humptulips and Sequim (pronounced Skwim) but nothing beats Lizard Lick, North Carolina

"Why kick a moo cow?" reminds me of Alberta's river and park Kananaskis, which sounds like "Can an a*s kiss?" While I don't know if one can, many of us act like one when we try.
Continuing my own survey of all 50 US states, Noth Carolina has Bee Log, Toast, and Spies; North Dakota has Zap and Concrete; Ohio has Chagrin Falls, Fly, Aid, Antiquity, and Getaway; and Oklahoma has Slick, Boggy Depot, Cement, Cloudy, and Big Cabin.

The closest I've been to South Carolina is the Atlanta airport, which isn't close at all! I just picked these names off the map. Coward is about 80 miles east of Columbia, and Nine Times is a crossroads in the far NW corner of the state, which makes it about 140 miles NE of Atlanta.

I just watched a video with Dennis Miller (my hero) interviewing George Carlin (funny but wrong). They talked for about five minutes and then Dennis said..."We have a caller. It's Bobby from Blueball, Ohio!" (much laughter). Then Dennis said.."Well, Bobby, I know you've been on hold for a long time!" (even more laughter). hahahaha

GG's story inspired me to look up Blueball, Ohio on Google Maps- Blueball is now absorbed into Middletown, which may make sense.
I also found a Blueball in Ireland, just down the road from Ballycore, Garbally, and Lowerton More... in County Offaly, no less.

Just for the record, not sure about Carlin being wrong. He's dead on about a lot of things. Back to town names... No more Blueball? Awwww lol
