Fear - The Jets defense outscores the offense, breaking an all time low record for points in a season which was set during a 14 game season.
Hope - The team is playing possum during the pre season and will break out a new offense that will be the model for all other teams for the next 20 years.
I put the fear first, because that is the much more likely scenario.

Lets go Vikes!
Also just because ESPN gives them such a hard time (and because my wife loves them), I hope the Jacksonville Jaguars kick some AFC South butt this year.

Looks like you and me are both rooting for cellar dwellers, Bernard. You the Vikes and me the Redskins. The NFC East is almost always up for grabs lately so I'd say the Skins have a better chance of getting somewhere than Minnesota but it'll probably take a couple years for either to get anywhere. I like the Jags because I'm from that area (although I moved away before they became a team). Houston looks like the class of that division, for now, but who knows?

Well, tonight's the night. It's sacrilegious for me to root for the Cellboys but the Giants are a bigger threat in our division and I'd like to see them start off in the hole. Hopefully both teams will play horribly and continue that way for a while.

Bx, the Jets are looking woeful. It just seems as if Sanchez hasn't improved at all. As for me, the Bears have the makings of a big year. The biggest concern right now is Urlacher's scoped knee.

Unbelievable, I lost a pool last year when I picked the Chiefs and they played horrible week 1, and week 1 this year I squeak by with the Eagles and play it safe this week and pick the Patriots at home to beat the woeful Cardinals and Pats found a way to lose, I am in complete shock that this Cardinal team went into New England and knocked them off.

The Chiefs are obviously not ready for some football. Please let Matt Cassell have a non-life threatening but incapacitating minor injury.

This must be about the sixth time the Redskins have beaten a good team, got everyone's hopes up and then lost to the Rams. No need to panic this early, some might say, but our defense is in bad shape. We lost both starting safties in the offseason and it shows. Same old story...our defense is usually good and the offense not. When the offense does occasionally shine (like now), the defense falls apart. They're never, and I mean never on the same page.

And the Skins should at least bench Josh Morgan for a couple games. Who gets a 15 yd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the last minute when his team is down by 3 that takes them out of field goal range? A future bench-warmer, that's who.

I see Morgan has said he's learned his lesson...I guess we'll see. To be honest, I can't blame him. Cortland Finnegan is one of the dirtiest players in the NFL, and Morgan knew it and still let it get to him.
Another Vikes fan here. We'll see if Ponder is the future or not this year. Although he really doesn't have anyone to throw to except Percy. I was surprised that Stephen Burton isn't getting more reps though...they seemed to have a connection. I'm hoping that once Jerome Simpson comes back, the passing game will come a little more alive.
