Not me, but my cat, Henry T. Adios, a big tiger got swooped and pecked on the butt whenever he went out the back door.
The birds had a nest nearby and they must have known he was a hunter - he never did seem to figure out what hit him.
The birds never bothered my female, Weebles, but she was not a hunter. Magpies must have a way of knowing...

Never by a magpie but by a Mockingbird, yes. I haven't seen a magpie where I live since the 1970's.

Not a magpie but an owl! I used to have a home health care job & went to the home of an old gentleman to help him out around his house. One night after he had gone to bed, I was taking his garbage outside & felt something swoop at my head! It was so dark out that I couldn't see what was dive bombing me. It happened again and this time, I swear I felt a CLAW graze the top of my head! I was freaked out & I went inside & got a flashlight. I looked up in the trees and there was a large owl glaring down at me, ready to attack again. The next day, the man's family was around when I arrived & I told them about my experience. They told me that owls had been nesting in their trees for years & if anyone got too close to the trees where the babies were, the male owls would attack! Owls are beautiful birds but they can be pretty scary! YIKES!

Maybe it was the baby owls or maybe the male owl saw that you had trash and thought you were going to pollute.

Never been swooped by a magpie, but a seagull pooped on my head when I was out in the middle of a lake in a paddleboat! The irony was that I had just washed my hair.

I've never seen a magpie in real life (they don't live here). I've been swooped by mockingbirds and a great horned owl. Yesterday a red-tailed hawk who was after a squirrel swooped down in my yard. With a four-foot wingspan it nearly startled me to death.

My father got spurred by a rooster while riding his tricycle. It was VERY mean and vindictive bird. Dad said it would follow him around trying to pretend it wasn't. He said when he could see it out of the corner of his eye, he would turn to look at it and the blasted bird would stop and pretend to peck at the ground. My Grama Margret finally sold the bird.
the man she sold it to told her he packed it off with three other roosters. Upon arrival at the local "killing floor", the three other roosters were found slaughtered. Only that mean, vile bird of my families stood to meet his end.

Never been harassed by a magpie, but have been dive-bombed by a mockingbird. Also been chased and bitten by swans and geese lol.
