If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Here is a story for you. I went to the gas station the other day and when I took off my gas cap, I dropped it. I got down on my hands and knees and looked for it under my truck and found that it had rolled to the other side of my truck. I got up and went around the back of my truck to get it when I was cut off by another woman pulling in to get gas. I heard a "crunching" noise and knew that she had ran over my gas cap. I just went back and finished my pumping and went into the store and paid for it. While I was in the store, I met someone that I knew and we started talking. This woman came in and started complaining to the manager that she had ran over something and thought it might have damaged her tire. She was giving him a hard time and telling him that he needed to clean up his area. It's funny how one small thing can lead to something else. I just walked out and let them have their time together. It cost me $15.50 for another gas cap.

The other day, the local rag ran an article along with pictures, of a married w/ children couple pulled over initially for a suspected DUI- The interesting thing is they were driving the exact vehicle- TrailBlazer- that I own and were living at my exact previous address! This lead to a big time drug and weapons bust. Anyway, glad to see the old 'hood is keeping up appearances, lol! No, I didn't know them and it's been over three years since I moved.

Both of my favorite teams won today; the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins. Not sure which one I would pick if they had to go head to head, but at least my "favorite" would win.

Eraucci I've posted these in the past few days on my team's board - but put together, they make sort of a story. So, cut, pasted, and somewhat edited, here goes:

Friday: Okay, so the first few times the answers told me I missed a question, & I thought I'd picked the right answer, even though it showed I chose a different one, I figured, "Hey, I was in a hurry. I mis-clicked. I accidentally picked the wrong one. My mistake."
When it happened again, once or twice a week, even when I was SURE I'd chosen the right answers, I thought, "Glitch?" But hey, maybe it was me...
But *twice* today in the Globals - within 10 minutes of each other, on answers I knew and absolutely did NOT mis-click - this is getting ridiculous. And yes, it's affecting my scores! *And* it's getting more frequent!

Sunday: Three - count 'em, 3! - "mis-clicks" today! One said I didn't answer an item that I did, and two indicated I'd chosen a different answer than the correct one I picked. One of those I'd looked up (which is allowed!), so there's no way I missed it. The other was in the Team vs. Team quiz. (Maybe I still would have had the lowest score - but not *that* low!)
I did NOT miss these three questions. What's next, the Knockout? I'm losing faith in FunTrivia's integrity here.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. (And if any of you have any idea what's up with all this, I'd love to hear *your* story!)

He is a story for you.
My two year old beagle, Rambo, stays outdoors and eats or steals EVERYTHING, mainly shoes. my husband gets so mad because the dog always steals ONE shoe and takes it God only knows where and hides it. Seriously, there is a shoe graveyard somewhere on my 30 acres. So I come home the other day and Poor Rambo has a size 11.5 ASIC running shoe tied around his neck. Hubby made him wear it for a whole day! Now if you say the word 'shoe' around Rambo, he runs and hides. I guess we will see if the 'shoe therapy' worked!!

I liked the story about the 'shoe therapy'.

My dog story is that I have been minding my daughter's dog while she was in Hawaii (lucky person). She is a chihuahua but constantly barked at my next door neighbour's dog challenging him to battle. Fortunately, as he is a very large but very tolerant dog, he ignored her.

I was very surprised recently when I saw the 1980's movie "Runaway Train". I do not remember it from when it first came out, but it was highly regarded at the time - both John Voight and Eric Roberts got acting Oscar nominations for their roles. I loved the movie - it really was well done and even though it is a black and white film the filming of the train in Alaska really was stunning. I highly recommend this film for all to see.

Today I saw a man walking down the road carrying a massive labrador. People were staring but he just carried on. he looked like he was in pain himself, but he continued down the road and eventually entered a building. It turns out that both he and the labrador had been run over and despite his own pain, he was carrying a very heavy dog to the vet's. Awwww.

My wife and I attended the yearly company Christmas party on Saturday night. They had a food drive for the needy and gave out prizes to those who donated. You wouldn't believe our shock when we won a 39" Samsung TV. Our son now has it in his room.

shampoo1 The Simple Things are more valuable than the most expensive gifts. I am a teacher and today, two of the 5 year olds I have in resource class gave me a gift. There was whispering and giggling as they came to my classroom and I heard one of them say, "She is going to love it." As I opened the gift which was wrapped in tissue paper, I could not help but notice the pride and innocence in those beautiful little faces. Lo and Behold, they had made me a large wallet/folder out of construction paper. It was decorated with a reindeer and two stick figures (them) pulling Santa's sleigh. "It's for our drawings they said, So you can look at them again and again whenever you are sad. One of my best gifts ever....

Now that I think about it, the dry cupboards were the key. I mean, they were bare and empty save for the half-full jar of chunky peanut butter and an expired bag of craisins. Mom always kept that cabinet full to the brim with food, well mostly junk...but always full. Doritos, Gushers, Twizzlers, the occasional Pop-Tart...always in stock at our household, but for two weeks there was not a single grain of sugar to be found in there. It was as if someone or something had violently stuck her with a 21-gauge hypodermic needle and drawn out her will to shop, socialize, and leave the house altogether. I mean, it isnt like I was craving the sugar. Hell, God knows I've had enough running through my system to last me through an apocalypse. It was just...you know, one of those things you think about in a moment like this. It's only been a week, but these insensitive, overbearing shrinks insist on me searching for "signs." And maybe I'm just running my fingers through this thick fog and holding on to even the tiniest hole of sight, the thinnest wisp of air...maybe I am. But when you've known my mom for as long as I did, having no junk in our kitchen trunk for over a week, well...I should've seen it coming, right?

**(if anyone has any interest, I will gladly continue the story)**

C30 I swear cats know more than they let on! We have four of the furry felines, and last year our local veterinary practice raffled a homemade Christmas Cake to raise funds for a local animal rescue centre.
We won the cake (and very nice it was too)........but when my wife said, "We must go to the Vet and collect that cake", I swear four faces showed total disbelief.
"They're going to the Vet to collect a CAKE? Yeah right" !
Followed by one saying to another, "They have lost it you know, they have finally flipped"
Disbelieving lot!!!
