Hey, the Mayan Prophesy says the world will end on the 21st of December. Does that mean we don't have to send any cards for Christmas?

I got flowers today!
It wasn’t my birthday or any other special day;
We had our first argument last night; And he said a lot of cruel things that really hurt;
I know that he is sorry and didn’t mean to say the things he said;
Because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today!
It wasn’t our anniversary or any other special day;
Last night he threw me into a wall and then started choking me;
It seemed like a nightmare, but you wake up from nightmares to find they aren’t real.
I got flowers today!
And it wasn’t Valentine’s Day or any other special day;
Last night he beat me and threatened to kill me;
Make-up and long-sleeves didn’t hide the cuts and bruises this time;
I couldn’t go to work today because I didn’t want anyone to know-but I know he’s sorry;
Because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today!
And it wasn’t Mother’s Day or any other special day;
Last night he beat me again, and it was much worse than all of the other times;
If I leave him, what will I do? How will I take care of the kids? What about money?
I’m afraid of him, but I’m too scared and dependent to leave him! But he must be sorry;
Because he sent me flowers today.
I got flowers today…Today was a very special day—it was the day of my funeral;
Last night he finally killed me—I was beaten to death;
If only I would have gathered the courage and strength to leave him;
The women’s shelter could have helped me, but I didn’t ask for their help;
So I got flowers today…for the last time.

One of the real challenges in my life has been trying to work with my wife's bipolar disorder. She has what is sometimes referred to as "mixed state" bipolar, or perhaps "rapid recycling" bipolar, which means that she can switch from manic to depressed in no time at all. Most bipolars who have this condition are also referred to as "irritable", but that's really a euphemism for "mean, nasty and hateful".
At some point, this whole story will turn into a book. But not today.

Christmas is such an interesting time - stressful to shop among the crowds, but also to experience the excitement, the children's expectations, the smell of cookies baking, the fun of wrapping presents, and more. Take time to enjoy it!

I can't get what happened to those poor children in Newton, CT off my mind. How can those families live through their pain? Let's all pray for them this holiday season.

Often, I have to remember this is the season of miracles. The joy of all and how much I truly have to be grateful for. Let's all remember to give our loved ones a extra hug.

I was just getting in my car the other morning, when this big bloke comes along and says 'Eh Pal, can you give me a lift?". So I look him up and down and said "You're a tall good looking fella, got a nice tan and you are dressed very smart. The World's your oyster, you go for it". And off I went, good deed done!.

So I am trying to get my wife a new watch on Ebay and as always I am getting caught in the thrill of the bid and losing sight of the value of the item; but I am determined not to overpay. One of the best things about funtrivia is that even when I play too much the cost remians the same.

I keep getting emails at work letting me know that overtime is offered. I wish I could get someone to stop sending them to me, because I can't seem to say no and now I'm working like a zillion hours over the next six days. Thank goodness for Fun Trivia to take my mind off my troubles, LOL.

Storytime! I have written two one-act plays in iambic pentameter with characters based on Shakespeare and other Elizabethan and Jacobean-era playwrights. The only non-iambic parts were the comic relief.

Whe I retired from my career as a police officer a while back, I stayed home for almost a year before I got the itch to go back to work. I decided on a local auto dealership in my area after seeing an ad in the newspaper. I never had done sales and so I was hesitiant to move inot that field. With encouragement from my wife, I went and tried it out. Since I was receiving a pension I wasn't to concerned. I told my wife, "I'll try it for six months and decide if I like it." Well, this February I'll still be trying to decide whether I like it or not. Trouble is, I'll have been doing it for ten years. :)
