If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

Well, I read all the "stories" on the page and forgot what I was going to post! Want to tell Barbara that it also took me a while to discover the "Mail" link at the top of the page, and I had already joined a team before I saw all those invitations. This is a good thing, because I probably would have joined a large team that recruits a lot and I LOVE Faithful and True! (I've just become team leader - a couple of months ago - when my dear friend Donna39 in New Zealand sent me a message in the middle of the night here in North Carolina and said, "Okay, you've now the leader!" We had talked about it months before, but it was a surprise! Loving it so far, but we haven't had a single new player join our team since I became leader! Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it's a great little team.) I've been playing almost 2 years and am constantly discovering new things about Fun Trivia. I love the way the Daily Challenges are helping with that. Like this chat. Nice to read your messages!

Why is it that I can talk to people for hours every day, but when I'm directed here, I have to wrack my brain to think of anything to say? I am excited about tomorrow. I've been waiting for over 10 years for a sprinkler system for our yard. It's finally happening tomorrow morning. So it'll be a lot more fun to garden & plant flowers this year when Spring "officially" arrives.

i just wanted tio comment on the manti t'ao story. I undertand how a person can be duped. If anyone remembers the movie "the Night Listener" anout a night dj that got sucked in to a story about a boy who had been abused as a child 'had a terminal illness etc. The dj only soke to hin on the phone or to his mother. He never met the child although he received pic of him which I think later turned out to be those of another child. This went on for some time. I think it was eventually exposed but there are still people today who believe that this child is for real. I guess we all choose to believe what we want to believe for whatever reason.

2012 was not the best year for me, so I was hoping 2013 would be better.

On the plus side I am mobile again as I got a new to me car on Friday and I have got back into contact with a friend that I have not seen for 20 years.

On the down side, I got a phone call to say that my brother is in ICU. He was found collapsed a week ago and that hospital cannot find out what is wrong with him. I got my younger two children to change school in an effort to save money and they both hate their new school and I have not saved enough money to buy the rest of their school uniforms yet. Oh, and someone has scratched the car.

Roll on 2014.

The handle on the inside of my bathroom door broke. No problem. I'm quite handy so bought a new set with the intention of just replacing the inside handle,
because a different handle would not match the rest of my apartment. Being an amateur I did not realise that the internal rods in days of yore were not all of a uniform size. I would have to scour the Sunday markets & bric-a-brac stores to find a match. I made a mental note not to shut the bathroom door behind me, and packed my tool kit.

The self same night I ran a bath, added some rose-geranium oil, and closed the bathroom door.

Don't mention embarrassment. My mobile was in the bedroom. It was almost midnight.
Well, my linen cupboard is in my bathroom so had enough soft warm things to make a bed in the bath. No. Maybe I could make a sheet-rope as done in the movies, and climb down. Then what would I do? I couldn't get back in. I opened the window and leaned out as far as I could.
Aha - a light in the apartment above me. "Schalk" I yelled. After a few of those the window opened and it was Schalk's cousin and then Schalk. They laughed so hard the story of my plight took awhile.

I asked him if he could get a spanner to me (wrench) and he countered "What's in it for me?"
"Chocolate chip cookies, made tomorrow".
The spanner was lowered to me in a supermarket packet, secured with a couple of dressing gown cords. I thankfully opened my bathroom door and returned the spanner to the packet which was hoisted up and away.

I made the cookies, with much gratitude, the next day.

I haven't found the right handle yet but keep my spanner on the windowsill, behind the curtain, just in case I forget again before the replacement's found.

The Easy challenge said score 10/20 on a 20 question quiz, the medium challenge said share a story here, both not a problem, however the difficult challenge said to score a 9 letter word on word wizard and that could be a problem with my spelling and grammar, but we will try as normal, I'm nothing if not trying as everyone will tell you

peggy-bee I just spent the evening planning my 2 week trip to Ireland with my daughter. We are going for her graduation ceremony for her Masters from UCC. Just wish it wasn't in February.

I just received a note under my door advising that the next door neighbours will be holding a rather large and loud party on Saturday night. Joy oh happy joy.

Every year I take 6 weeks off work - mid December to beginning of February. So I am officially on leave at the moment. Pure bliss! Only problem is I have to go back in 10 days :(

In an Indian village the children are gathered at the feet of the wise old chief. He is telling them the story of the two wolves living inside of him, who are locked in an eternal battle, because the one wolf is good and the other is bad. The chief leaves them with this thought and all the children are quiet. After a prolongued silence one little girl pipes up and asks which wolf wins the battle. The old chief replies: 'The one I feed!'

The neighbors are having their sunroom rebuilt.

I hope it remains standing once the work is complete.

The contractors don't appear to be adept at their craft. Rather than quality construction, the room has taken on the look of a patchwork quilt. It is also starting to lean to one side.

I've been having trouble sleeping for quite a while. I would sometimes go two or three nights with only a couple of hours sleep each night.
Recently, I've been able to tell the people at the office that I couldn't remember the last time I had a bad night's sleep.
Either I got a good night's sleep or I didn't get to sleep at all.
Well, now I can remember the last time I had a bad night's sleep: Last night.
Slept for a couple of hours, woke up for a while, drifted off for probably about half an hour, woke up again, drifted off again for another half hour.
Not looking forward to work today.
