There once was a lady who took tests
there once was a lady who took tests
wherein achieving high scores was her quest
but each time her high score
was beat by those who scored more
she'd say "surely they jest!"

I love playing the Twin Challenge because I have had the chance to meet up with some former team mates and that was really nice.

Good morning all. Another visit to the share a story thread, which is starting to look like a long yarn and that is not stretching it at all!

My Story:
When leaving Germany in 1982 we boarded the airplane at Rhine Main Air Force Base and as the airplane took off and was climbing out through the clouds my then 6 year old son, leaned across my lap and looked out the window. With a very serious look, asked me "Where's God?"

Will be so happy when Hurricane Sandy is a long lost memory. Still dealing with the aftermath. We were trapped in our home for a week with no power, heat or gas and five feet of water as far as the eye could see. Fish swimming up and down Main St.! Lost everything in the basement where there was three feet of water plus two cars! Last week, woke up to no heat because of the remains of 3000 gallons of water that was in the gas lines. Shingles have been replaced so leaks in bedroom are finally gone. When will it end lol??? Waiting on flood insurance. Still, we are better off than many others!

My quest to become Immortal is over already :(
Didn't get home from work yesterday in time to complete the first round of yesterday's Global Challenge.

They occasionally have a trivia night here at the military base I work at and my team is undefeated. Last time our team name was "Les Quizerables".

A businessman was going on a trip and his wife was to follow him next day. When he got to his hotel he sent an email to his wife. Unfortunately he sent the email to the address of an elderly couple whose husband had just passed away. The lady was very distraught when she read it. It read "To my dear Wife. Just got checked in. Everything is ready for you tomorrow. Boy is it hot down here."

I remembered to re-register for the KO again. I don't know why Tuesday's at work are so terrible that I have forgotten to play in my KO matches the last two weeks. This week will be different, however, and I will remember!

Received a pleasant surprise recently. Our daughter lives a long way from Georgia, and is a professional flutist. She was interviewed for a local television show about the promotion of arts in the area. Although she was only briefly shown in the piece, it was a treat for us to see her on television.

I watched the Super Bowl (American Football - just to verify) last night and had made a wish that, somehow, neither team would win. When the power went out in the stadium at the start of the second half, I thought my wish was going to come true. Sadly, the lights came back on and they finished the game and had a winner.

I'm on a journey and the theme seems to be smells. My room in a fabulous 5star Mayfair hotel smells of smoke, but I don't want to complain or be moved because the room is huge, and lovely. I looked at some apartments this morning and woke a resident up - he'd obviously just used the bathroom before opening the door so that wasn't pleasant. The driver of my black London taxi (I love London cabs!) had obviously just put his fag out when I got in. I'm having a ver smelly time!
