I have had such a lazy day, which is unlike me! I guess that we all need to take a complete day of rest every now and again to recharge our batteries, particularly in the winter. Roll on Spring when I can get out in the garden.

Rain all day. The creek is getting full, with ice under the water. My drive is a sheet of packed ice with water running 2 inches deep. But not getting rid of the ice. A soaked dog, at least her outer coat is spikey, with water. A very thankful person as we could be having 0 degrees. Nothing is starting to grow, and won't until mid march. Every day over 15 degrees F is a good day!

dbb = We live a good 1.5 to 2 miles from nearest water and have no pond. However, every year for past 5 years or so, or normal suburban garden (albeit overgrown in part) has been deemed a prime nesting site for wild ducks.
Sometimes we have been host to as many as three separate family of ducklings......there cannot be many people who have bought cat litter trays to fill with water for nesting ducks!
I discovered last year that they also like to eat Petunias - sigh!

I haven't been doing much lately. My ramp has been too icy for me to go out with my electric wheelchair. Just the usual Scottish winter!!

More snow today, though not as bad as across the pond. I will make it my excuse to have a lazy day though, as I seemed to spend all weekend running errands for other people.

We had a bad snowstorm late Friday night through Saturday (though not as bad as in Connecticut and elsewhere). We will be getting more snow and sleet tomorrow. The sleet worries me more than the snow, because the heaviness of it seems to increase the likelihood of power outages.

After some very cold days the garden surrounding my bird feeder starts to look like the site of a well known Hitchcock movie ;o)

We had a smelly adventure at our house the other night. Our dog, Remy, did battle with a skunk and came bounding into the house all jubilant---and reeking! He had taken several direct hits about his face which we did our best to clean, but, alas, our house still smells of skunk! And it's much too cold to open all the windows so we are stuck; just trying everything we can think of to rid our home of the smell. Any ideas out there?

I was burning the candle at both ends. Well, as usual my body told me to slow down. Slowing down just did not seem like an option. Needless, to say, I should have slowed down and listened to my body. My body showed me who was boss. It landed it me straight in bed for 2 days. Lesson learned, when the body says slow down; slow down.

I walked out of my house this morning to find a truckload of black sand in my driveway. After much querying I find out that it was supposed to be delivered to the house 5 doors away.
The company wont come back and move it so he has to move it all by hand with a wheelbarrow in 40 degree heat!
And I need my car in 3 hours so he has a definate time limit

I have just came back from the school camp from Hell. The so called "cabin" had no wardrobe, no iron, no fridge, no TV, no bathroom, no toilet, no airconditioning, no fans and smelt of damp. I felt like I was in a prisoner of war camp. I told the leader of the camp, aka the camp nazi, that we refused to stay in there.
A couple of hours later we got moved to a "cabin" with no wardrobe, no iron, no fans and no airconditioning. But, we had a toilet and a bathroom. Most of all, we also had a TV and joy of joys, a fridge, which was quickly filled up with our "supplies" :)

We got about a foot of snow last night and I'm sore from shoveling this morning. Ugh.

Three feet of snow in New York and people still manage to carry on near-normal. In the UK, one inch of snow and the whole country grinds to a halt.

the day in the life of John Aka crash.I get up on a week day morning around 6:15 AM. I shave with my Remington electric razor. Then, I take a shower, for approximately 15, to 20 minutes. After that, I get dressed, and if the mood strikes me, I'll eat one of my granola breakfast bars. After which, I brush my teeth. Then around 7:15, or so, I'll walk out my apartment door, take the elevator to the lobby, take a right, and walk out the front door. Once I reach Marshall Street, I walk approximately 3 blocks to 1st Street. Then I take a right, walk down, and cross Broad Street, cross Grace, Franklin, Main, and when I reach Cary Street, I take a right, and walk 1 block to Foushee Street. I cross Foushee Street, cross over Cary Street, walk a little way down the hill, and go into the building, where I work, as a Receptionist. I stay there all day until 5:00 PM, walk home, and relax for the evening. I left some ststuff out, because if I hadn't I'd be here until 2014 Anyway, everyone have a wonderful Tuesday, February 12th 2013

Did you read about the man whose father died waiting for an ambulance to take him to the hospital?
He just received an ambulance bill for $780.85!

Packing up someone else's belongings, going through their photos - one day someone will have to do mine. My treasures, someone else's junk, a chore.

A quiet, cold, sunny day in SB, my dog rolled in something foul and now needs a bath. Dang, there goes my afternoon.

It is raining again... February is generally wet in my part of the world. But the good news is, it only has 28 days so here's hoping, March is better.
I'm fast running out of stories...lol...
