If you are directed here by a FunTrivia challenge, please reply ONLY in this thread for the challenge. Only posts made here will count towards your challenge!

[ And no, you will be DIRECTED to come here. Posting here without having an already issued challenge will not result in anything! Still, you can post a story if you feel like it anyway ;) ]

If sent here, the title says it all. Your challenge is to share a story.

Tell us, briefly, about something funny or interesting that has happened to you recently. Or something sad. Or something scary. Or something exciting. Something funny or strange you saw?

If nothing funny or interesting or scary or exciting has happened, then write us a poem. Or a song. Or tell us a joke.

Or just tell us what you did today. Did all you accomplish was to brush your teeth? Did you fail to even do that? Do share...

Feeling grumpy today? Tell us what irritates you. What TV show can't you stand? What TV show are you watching that you like?

So go ahead, we're listening. The only rules are that you be polite and follow our very simple rules up above.

Tell us a story...

Please feel free to leave feedback for the site administrators. We will take all feedback into account as we tweak and add new features.
The old reply to thread function was removed because it got to the point where people weren't even reading the announcements and assuming, by default, that they were somehow being wronged or forgotten or insulted or abused or cheated out of something in some manner.

My plans for today include a Pilates class, lunch downtown and a walk by the river, with my camera. When I get home I'll take my cat for a walk :)

I went to the zoo yesterday. I saw lots of beautiful plants and animals. Tried to see the baby panda, but he was rolled up asleep on top of a fake tree. Oh well. I still took some pictures. Had a nice lunch. Took a bus tour. Went home. Great day. Now my legs hurt like heck from all the walking, but it was well worth it.

I took my wife's car to the golf course last Saturday. 35 minute drive. I opened the trunk and realized that my clubs were in my car. Not enough time to drive home and back. I rented a set of clubs, bought a new pair of golf shoes and proceeded to shoot my lowest round ever.

I'm happy to say that I recently became a great-grandparent. After six wonderful grandkids (3 boys, 3 girls) our first great-grandaughter, Lovella, was born in Arizona. She is the daughter of our first grandchild, Kelsey Rose.

Another great decision by our school system...woke up this morning after 10 hours of snow and ice to hear that all schools were operating on schedule. This from a school system that three weeks ago closed schools three hours early because there was a chance for less than an inch of snow between 6 and 7 PM that EVENING!

Needless to say both my valentine and I were pretty cranky that we had to get up and slide our way to school to face students that were cranky about not getting the delay that would have made sense under the conditions...oh well.

I hate Valentine's Day - all that money for candy and flowers - candy makes you fat and the flowers are gone within a matter of days. I guess the fact that I never seemed to have a sweetheart on past Valentine's Days might have colored my attitude a bit. In college, somebody thought it would be fun to call me from the front desk of the dorm to say that I had flowers delivered - no flowers, just a bunch of rude, mean girls waiting in the lobby to laugh at me for being so stupid to believe that anyone would send me flowers for any reason.

Eruditio Today I found a nice Chinese-y spicy green bean recipe (and doctored it up to be a bit more peppery)--it came out pretty nice, and would have been even better if I had been able to finish it as soon as the beans were steamed. Have a great day/evening!

In the process of remodeling the bathroom I hope I don't step through the hole in the floor in the middle of the night.

Twice a year our local Council has a free trash pick up where you place on the verge anything you want to be rid of. All sorts of things are there like old fridges, washing machines, microwave stoves etc. But this time round I counted no less than 8 TV sets in our little street of 13 houses. Sign of the times with the switch over to Digital TV. We humans are so wasteful in our efforts to get bigger and better. I am wondering how long it will be before we see the new Digital TV's of today gracing the verge ready for the pick up.

My husband bought a loaf of 'sunflower bread', which he wanted to try as part of his new healthier diet.
After sampling a piece, he went back to the store and bought a loaf of whole wheat bread.
Yesterday I put the sunflower bread out for the squirrels.
It is still there...

Until quite recently, I never realized my cat served the dual function of pet/master of the house and thermometer. Let me explain. We live in a two-story house. During the winter the heater comes on as called for by the thermostat which is located on the bottom floor. As of course heat rises this can lead to a large temperature difference between upstairs and downstairs, so much so that there is a noticeable change in temperature with every step up the stairs. I have noticed that you can determine exactly what the temperature is by which step the cat is resting on as she settles in to the Goldilocks zone.

One of my real-life heroes is my grandmother. She was born in the 1890s and lived in the western part of the U.S. One of the first women to not use a side-saddle, but to wear slacks and ride astride.

BenaBena Yesterday I planned a surprise couples massage and my partner planned a surprise German buffet lunch. Unfortunately we both planned them for the same time period. Since mine was a reservation, we went for the massage (followed by hamburgers). The fancy lunch is going to happen next week instead.
