My workplace has approximately 60 employees. In the past 18 months there have been 4 non-natural deaths of relatives of our employees and a homicide of an employee. I hope this trend does not continue.

Could not have had a better wkend! Visited by companionable sister in law. Saw Million Dollar Quartet, Amour, Zero Dark Thirty, the Oscar nominated shorts and animations. Ate at our favorite breakfast place and at the best restaurant in town where we got the last open spot by walking in the door on the dot of 5:30. Lovely raspberry wine and dark chocolate at the end of the day at home. A nice break from work. I wish this or your version for you.

Just putting the finishing touches on our first album 'Message Stick' with my band 'didJital'. Pretty excited about it and the year ahead. In other news, saw 'Lincoln' last night, great film. Spielberg and Day-Lewis make a great team.

Got back Sunday from a lovely cruise...and no, it was not a Carnival ship! Lovely to get away from frigid temperatures to sit on a beach in the middle of winter.

The other day I was thinking about a friend while crossing the street to go to a restaurant. Imagine my surprise when I ran into him inside! (We hadn't agreed to meet.)

The BBC celebrated the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first album 'Please Please Me' by recreating the recording. Among the singers were Beverly Knight and Mick Hucknall. Amazing to realise that it is half a century ago, and that the album was put together in only one day.

Quite near the kitchen window, in my garden, I have a bird bath. Over the years, the birds have used it to drink from. Yesterday morning, I watched the most amusing scene. A blackbird was lying down splashing about and obviously having a thorough wash and he appeared too be enjoying himself. Suddenly two more birds appeared and perched on the side of the bath. When the first bird got out it flew into a tree and one of the other birds got in and bathed . When it got out it too flew onto the tree. Only then did the third bird get in the bath and wash. Once he was flying the three of them flew away. How strange was that?

My aunt passed away about a month ago. A song was sung that I had never heard before, "I'll Meet You in the Morning". It really touched my heart. I liked it so much that I had my husband download it to my phone.

I never knew how hard coming up with stories for this thread could be. I thought it would be simple, but it appears that I was wrong. I guess that's why this is a Medium challenge.

I contracted conjunctivitis (pinkeye) about 2 weeks ago. In addition, a sty formed in the same eye, causing more irritation and infection. It finally cleared up after three doctors visits.

I have a suet feeder for birds on a tree outside my kitchen widow. I have seen lots of woodpeckers, nuthatches and starlings feeding there. As of late, the squirrels have figured out how to open the cage the suet is in. To quote a dog in the movie Up, "SQUIRRELS!".

Gosh, I'm beginning to forget which stories I've posted on this thread! I don't want to repeat, but I have a feeling that not a lot of people may be reading these on a day to day basis, anyway.
In addition to myself, I once had to recruit another five people for a charity tournament volleyball team in Seattle. I asked one fellow, but there was something about his manner that made me doubt his sincerity. Just to make sure, I asked one more person as "insurance".
Sure enough, Mr. Glib did not show, but all the others did and we had enough people. I have learned not to let the fickleness of any one person defeat any group project or undertaking of which I take charge!
We beat every team, but lost on total points, as we did not run up the score on our weaker opponents. I protested, but to no avail. It was for charity, after all!
Guess that's two "stories" for the price of one!
That was our Mensa group in Seattle, by the way. Similarly, longer ago, our Honors Program won the President's Cup at the University of Miami. Who said brainy people aren't good athletes?!
Cheers, Chevy
