March at last spring just around the corner. Sick of cold weather, flu season and snow shoveling. Ready for a little global warming.

Just decided that I am going to start planning a trip to Italy for the summer of 2014. It has been put off for too long. Besides, I like having a goal. Keeps me motivated.

Can't think of a thing except what just happened: my cat, Fury, who fancies himself mysterious, likes to conceal himself in odd places, and this afternoon he was in my closet getting comfy in the box with crafting supplies {I could hear him crinkling paper and stuff}. He just came out, I mean 'came out' - covered in many-colored glitter and some beads and things which he rubbed all over me. He is rather pleased with himself. I don't know if he realises he's twinkling.

I've not had this challenge for a while - I thought that it had forgotten about me! Anyway, I'm going skiing shortly, and had probably better get off the computer soon.

There's an amazing man in my life, and he's only three years old. My nephew, who has to be one of the bravest people I know. Yes, I am speaking of a three year old still. He has an optic nerve glioma, and for over a year now he has put up with surgery, chemotherapy, and a barrage of uncomfortable to downright painful procedures. Yet, he is always smiling, and very loving. Whenever I feel like a problem is overwhelming me, I look at him, and when he smiles -which he always does- I think that it's not so bad.

I was reminded recently of just how literal children are in their interpretations of what we adults say. My daughter, who is four years old, and I were eating at a local restaurant, and I was having a salad. As usual, the restaurant had its on salad dressing, which it called "Come Back Dressing". She asked me what I had put on my salad because it was not the usual white of the ranch dressing I normally get. I told her it was "Come Back Dressing". She asked in response, "Why do they call it that? Does it run away?"

I have severe sleep disorders. One of the disorders is the hypervigilance of sleep, also know as "somniphobia" and/or the "fear of sleep". Unfortunately, severe night terrors and vivid nightmares are a side effect and the horrible nightmares I suffer from even after being 'asleep' as little as 1-2 minutes make Stephen King's horror stories seem like Mother Goose nursery rhymes.
I wish to share one of the several terrifying nightmares I experienced last night, but before I begin,
**"I must warn you that reading this is done at your own risk" and "any side effects that occur as a result of perusing this writing are YOUR responsibility and NOT the responsibility of mayneeyak, the sharer of this unspeakable tale."**
If you feel you're ready to read and experience, continue at your own risk...
Upon falling 'asleep' last evening, full of inquietude as usual with maximum angst about what might attack and infect my maladjusted mind, I immediately fell into the usual pattern of night terrors and the surrealistic frozen fear state that so often accompanies the onset of the ghoulish delirium of my dreamstate's persecution.
There's really no use in dragging out such a nauseatingly unbearable experience so I will cut to the chase of the horrific mental destruction I went through...falling, falling, grabbing and reaching at nothing, but desperately I tried to stop my speed of sound tumble down, down, down into a brilliant white tunnel toward a brilliance so dazzling it blinded me when all of a sudden I hit bottom! Surprisingly, the terminus of my tailspin had me landing in an extremely sticky, but soft and mountainous haymow of Gargantuan Marshmallows!
Unable to breathe or climb my way out of the smothering pile of sugary sweetness, I did the only thing that my screaming psyche was telling me to do. I began to eat the first smothering mound of quagmiry confection I touched. Not being able to engorge myself fast enough to allow air to get into my burning lungs, I blacked out in the terror-crazed fright of the knowledge that I may die from suffocation...
...suddenly my eyes snapped open wide as a blood-curdling scream escaped my tortured air bellows. Ever so slowly though, I released my claw-like grip upon the sheets and the mattress as I thankfully realized that I was awakening within the terrifying confines of my torturous shut-eye chamber. Sitting on the side of my bed I began, as was always the pattern, to contemplate what mirky ghastliness lay at the dreadful centre of a nightmare regarding the choking ingestion of a giant and gruesome marshmallow?
..oh no...oh dear mother NO were the words that crept into my edge-of-insanity limbic region as I frantically looked around the room, ripping blankets from the bed, tearing the clothes from my dresser drawers. The answer to my macabre query came shrieking into my psychological reality and I was overcome by the nausea that had crept into my guts...the sinister implication of the gluttonous intake of the corn syrup clump was poured into my nightmare tortured mind...MY PILLOW WAS GONE!

I have met so many awesome friends on Fun Trivia, but my absolute favorite was adzparadox. There wasn't a day that went by that we didn't communicate either about our team or just what was going on in our lives. He had such an awesome sense of humor! It has been almost two years since he passed away, and he would have been celebrating his birthday on March 12. I know he made friends with many people on FT who probably wondered why they weren't hearing from him. I am grateful for this opportunity to honor his memory.
